It seems too transparent to me!
There is an election and suddenly there is a news with the picture of cavemen on one side and the picture of one of the candidates on the other side saying the US government (that candidate wink wink) has sent the cavemen x amount of money Cheesy

If they wanted to bash Biden and Harris in the upcoming competition for power, they should have said something that is true like the fact that Biden escaped Afghanistan and left behind $100 billion worth of weapons and equipment, all of which were effectively donated to the Taliban.

In any case, you should keep in mind that Taliban is not some "militant group" as you called it. It is the government in control of Afghanistan. Many of them are indeed radicals and cavemen but it still is the government of Afghanistan.
And as for the money, you should know that the US regime has stolen billions of dollars of Afghanistan's money and has not been giving it back for years. $239 million is not even close to being the interest of what they are illegally holding...

I wonder why Americans would be surprised by a mistake that was supposedly unintentional, unless they doubt the intentions of the Biden administration. The United States of America, which failed to oust the Taliban from power after a war that cost billions of dollars, I do not imagine that it would be bothered by a few million that were sent by mistake. Then why do we run away from the assumption that the US administration accepts the reality in Afghanistan and deals with the Taliban government with an undeclared recognition, especially since countries friendly to the United States have begun to accept diplomatic representation for the Taliban government, and I would not be surprised by a rapprochement between the two countries.

The Afghans are free to choose who and how to govern them, and I no longer see that any party has the right to interfere under the pretext of protecting democracy in it. Certainly, the US administration is well aware of this, albeit late, after about 20 years of fighting, so that the end result is nothing.

An update broke on the X social media handle of BRICS News and it carried an headline which sprung the interest of many US citizens and outsiders to question the relationship of the United States Government under the Biden administration and the Islamia armed militant group called Taliban.

The headline says the "United States Government mistakenly transferred 239 million dollars to the Taliban. The funds were meant to be U.S aid aimed at tackling counterterrorism. The same report claimed the SIGAR issued a report in 2024 identifying a least of 29 grants which were erroneously sent to the Taliban group by the U.S government on counterterrorism. The report indicated that since President Joe Biden's withdrawal of US troops in 2021, the US State Department might have inadvertently directed at least $293 million to the Taliban. Source

What do you make of this headline which have caused mixed reactions among U.S Citizens in the X space?
