I've done some of those instant transactions (as supported by coins like Syscoin and Gincoin) and they are awesome.
I click send, and then check the website and it's like the money was there before I had time to shift tabs to the website.
It just goes to show that we're there technologically, we've beat the traditional payment processors. For fast transactions people can hold altcoins that allow them or maybe open channels on the bitcoin network.
If I hadn't had the experience I wouldn't realize how great that is.
