HOW DOES THE KOREAN  KASSE MADE IN ENGLISH?

Friends have a very important topic.
I reset the device, opens Korean at startup. When I got out of the box I was updated in Korean but the update was updated automatically in English. When I reset it was now Korean.
If your device opens in Korean, I'm writing the steps to switch to English.

There are 2 tabs on the main screen. One of them has an exclamation mark in another. So the settings.
Entering Settings.
Settings in chapter 4 language setting. At the beginning of each setting there are numbers like 1. 2. 3. 4..

4 that we need.
Korean looks like that. I found this by translating "English" from Google Translate into Korean.

언어

Approve it.
Your first English setting is set. Right click to confirm the device is in English.

It seems it's got some advantages over Legder Nano, thanks for detailed review. I hope more people will use this in near future and give us much more feedback about Kasse. Keep up the good work Hdac Team Smiley

Hello everyone, I am with you with another hardware wallet analysis. Kasse is the fourth hardware wallet I had a chance to review. You can reach the other three via:

Firstly, I want to give a little information about Kasse. Kasse is a hardware wallet manufactured by Hyundai. It supports a variety of coins including Hyundai Pay’s coin, HDAC. Please check Matthias9515’s subject regarding HDAC and Hyundai Pay.

Quote from the subject regarding Kasse:

Hd-kasse stands for Hyundaikasse and it is a hardware wallet developed by Hyundai-pay. Currently, this hardware wallet is sold in the United States and Korea and supports the leading crypto currencies in terms of market cap.
Hyundaikasse is the first digital hardware wallet of South Korea and I have found out a screenshot during my research indicating that it supports HDAC coin as well. This screenshot was taken from from the official website of Hyundaikasse.

Quote from Matthias continues as:
Hyundai Pay is not concerned with solely focusing on developing hardware wallets such as Ledger. This is merely the beginning. They have signed a variety of agreements and Smart Home products are almost manufactured and completed. The company plans to start products such as Smart Factory, and Smart Car.
Any product manufactured under Hyundai Pay will create a value added for HDAC because all of them will work with HDAC blockchain.
This November, HDAC will announce IoT contracts. Many developers will be able to launch their products as well as HDAC itself will be able to use IoT contracts. HDAC will excel at dApps.

Technical properties of the hardware wallet is as follows:

So, the device…
A classy box greets us…
My first impression is this device was made by high quality materials and has a Premium look. This can be understood by the packaging and the material used to manufacture. It really looks classy.

Inside of the box is as expected. Kasse, USD cable, hanger, instruction manual and the paper on which the seed phrases will be written.
Same as other wallets, you pick your 24 word seed and the PIN code. The device was turned on in Korean at first; alarming me. I decided a PIN code and an automatic update notification came. The first time I turned the device on after the update, it was turned on in English and asked for language preferences. That means, probably, English is not an option before the update.
Following the update, reenter your PIN code and prepare fort he 24 word seed. This seed means everything for you. Everything is attached to this seed. The device give them and you should write these down one by one. Than it asks for random words within your seeds; such as what was the 4th? What was the 8th? What was the 15th? Your device is ready to be used once you answer all these questions right.

Then we should download the PC software via:
https://kasseusa.com/software

Following the set up, a simple interface greets you. In the first screen, the device asks for another PIN code to be determined fort he PC application. This way a second layer of security is generated.
Once you turn the PC application on, a list of supported coins is shown; as follows:

  • Hdac
  • Bitcoin
  • Bitcoin Cash
  • Bitcoin Gold
  • Ethereum (Ecpectedly all ERC20 coins. I will return to this with a pleasing function later on)
  • Ethereum classic
  • Ripple
  • Litecoin
  • Qtum
  • Dash
  • Zcash

So, these are the coins supported for now. But I believe there will be more upcoming. I hope major coins such as XLM, ADA, XMR, IoTA, VET, NANO and Waves Strat will be supported in the upcoming future.
As I have written above, the device supports ETH. Expectedly, you can store all your ERC20 coins in your device.

What it means is; Kasse supports the complete list of coins here (Check for mainnet swaps; the device does not support tokens returning to their own chains from ERC20).

Let us see the good thing here…

We need an intermediary such as MEW or MyCrypto to send / receive our tokens to / from another adress. Without these intermediaries, it would be close to impossible as it requires a major amount of effort from other ways. Yet, Kasse solved this issue. In its own software, Kasse has an ERC20 button in the upper right once you open your ETH wallet. By clicking this button, you can add any ERC20 coin / token you want to your software. If you want, it has a token list which you can pick from.

If you want, you can also add a contract adress and decimal number by yourself. You can even generate an ERC20 token of yours and you can send / receive this token via the device by installing the necessary information.

You can add your own tokens and control all of them with one click. Are you going to send PundiX? Pick NPXS and it is done. Are you going to send Matrix? Just pick MAN and it is done. I should say I loved this interface.

Let us get to the second biggest advantage of Kasse over Ledger.

Those who use Ledger Nano S knows; you should install the application of your coin to Ledger and log into the application by yoour Ledger. Then, you can send or receive the tokens by your computer application. Kasse does not have this complexity. You can control all the coins listed above by your computer application once you enter your PIN. Open your BTC wallet; return to main screen and open your ETH wallet. This process takes only a few seconds. For Ledger though, you shoudl logo ut from the BTC application from the device, then open the ETH application and wallet. The, with the LedgerLive software, we will be able to send ETH. This proces takes at least half a minute. For those investing in more than a few coins, this would be a hard process. It is great that Kasse does not need these processes. I reaelly loved this function.

This way Kasse solves another issue with the Ledger: the memory capacity issue. Ledger can only store the apps of merely 5 or 6 coins and then the memory becomes full. You cannot install any other applications. If you would be willing to add other coins; you need to delete one or few of the existing ones and install the application of the other coins.

Delete, install, open, send… It is just tiring… Furthermore, applications such as NEO’s holds a significant amount of space in Ledger. Once you delete NEO, there would be sufficient space for 4 or 5 coins. Kasse has not done something which would push the device’s internal memory. I do not know about the technical reasoning behind why it supports a limited amount of coins but I loved this about the device.

Compared to ledger, one function I did not like is the device has two buttons for settings and approval of sending coins. For Ledger, the one on the left and right functions as back and forward respectively. You need to push both of them for approval. For this device, the one on the left Works as back and the one on the right functions as semi-accept. When you push both of the at the same time, it gives approval command. Let us assume that you are entering the PIN. For the first digit, you use the left button to select 0 – 9 and push the one on the right to step to the next digit of the PIN. You push on both buttons once you complete entering the PIN to enter. If you enter a digit wrong or misse done, you need to keep pushing the left button until you reach the digit you want to change.

In settings, the left button keeps going on forward, so if you miss the tab you are willing to enter, you need to start over while you only need to push the right-side button in Ledger. This effort seemed useless, disturbing and unnecessary to me.

Ledger also has another function that I want; “account.”

For instance, once I open a BTC wallet, I can open different accounts for my wife, myself, my friend and others. I can keep them seperate in different places without the risk of confusion. Just like BTC, I have more than one account for ETH in my Ledger. Kasse gives you only one ETH adress. I expect and will that future updates can solve this issue. This is a good function and it needs to be added to Kasser.

A screenshot from the PC application.

Conclusion:
The device is nice, of high quality, classy and sexy. The Koreans have given a great response to the French design of Ledger’s. Again, compared to Ledger, it has its pros and cons. Pros are great and exciting and the cons are not unreachable things. So, I really liked this hardware wallet.
