As a result, baka may paghihigpit na gagawin against cryptocurrency or Bitcoin in the coming months or years.
Tighter regulations has always been inevitable in my opinion, it's just that mas mauuna lang talaga sa mga bansa gaya ng US.
I was actually thinking and hoping na with the growing acceptance of crypto or Bitcoin worldwide, instead na maghihigpit ay magloloosen up ang regulations. I might be wrong, at least in the Philippine context.
Crypto is already hitting the mainstream. So in a way yung old stigma which associated crypto with contraband such as drugs, arms, and so on, criminal services, gambling, and so forth ay mababawasan.

I wouldn't got that far, PIPVTR ay isa lamang independent organization at base sa description na sila mismo nagbigay isa lamang silang "non-government think tank" and afaik never silang ginamit ng ating gobyerno as a cornerstone o basis sa pag-gawa ng batas, hindi sila directly related sa gobyerno at registered sila sa SEC natin as a company not a government owned company.
Modern policy-making is research-based. In the process, the role of think tanks and research organizations which are normally NGOs cannot be overemphasized. They are the bodies of experts which are the ones normally commissioned for research by NEDA, DA, SEC, DPWH, DOH, and other government bodies. Kaya ang policy-makers, which are very seldom experts at madalas may kabobohan pa, would normally tap and consult these bodies as regards hard data, what do they signify, what is the best way forward, how to go about it, and so on. More often than not, kapag nagrerelease ng data o findings with expert analysis ang gobyerno backed by solid research, it is actually done by either the academe or research organizations not directly related to them.
PIPVTR, especially their somehow popular executive director, Prof. Banlaoi, has been consulted countless of times especially regarding national security and terrorism. They are also ignored at times.
I just hope, to somehow tip the scales, na pagdating sa hearings pertaining to crypto laws may mga crypto experts din na equally as brilliant para maaappreciate naman yung kabuuan ng crypto at hindi lang yung possible negative repercussions nito sa national security.
