You could buy GH/s online from certain businesses. Beware though that you have to pay a lot for fees on some sites. You could also try to mine alt-coins, some seem to be profitable.

Be careful with that, Gh/s sold online are almost always incredibly overpriced.
Make your research with calculators like http://www.vnbitcoin.org/bitcoincalculator.php before making big mistakes.

Plus, if you buy gh/s from cex.io, it will mine on ghash.io which is a big threat to the decentralised aspect of Bitcoin.

^^ Dunno mate, seem a lot of unhappy people who wait god knows how many months for pre-orders and when they got them it was basically useless and generating squat. but yeah if bitcoin gets to $10,000 then yeah, profit to be made by them!

I know we shouldnt think like this or else the hole bitcoin thing fails, but what about the poor people who pre ordered BFL stuff when BTC was like $30 or $80 or whatever it was a  while back... if only they had held... and yeah i know I know, no one is pychic.. :|

Yeah, I agree that preordering something that is planned to be released in more than a month is quite a bad idea. However, there are some ASICs available right now at good prices which ship in less than a month. GAW miners and a few other are reputable.

Hey

I do not want you to lose money so I don't want to recommend anything. Not because I have no recommendations, but because I suspect most (all) will make a loss by the time they are delivered.

oh is this just a for fun exercise and you don't want to make any profit, just want to give mining a go type of thing ?
if so, usb minors as others suggested.

They would be a loss only if you consider the current value in fiat.
If difficulty keeps increasing at the predicted rate but prices go higher and you held the coins you mined, this could be profitable for a longer time than expected.

Mining is important as it secures the network, and I'm sure most bitcoiners who bought ASICs in 2013, which was a rather risky investment, don't regret it at all.

Hi there, you could get a few USB miners to mine some satoshi, though you'll never make a profit what I've read.  Undecided

+1
The most affordable option for those with a low budget, is to buy scrypt ASICs. Bitcoin ASICs are really not profitable if you buy those under 1Th, for scrypt the value is comparable even with the lower priced ones.
GAW offers the Fury which is 1.3mh/s for about 100$. It would be more profitable to simply buy the coin and wait for them to be worth more, but mining is fun so that's what I'd recommend Smiley

Welcome

If you're in it for profit you're better of just buying the coins and holding them for at least 1-2 years unless you have tens of thousands of dollars to spend and a lot of patience.

Some ASIC hardware companies went bankrupt, that kind of tell you how competitive the mining business is right now.

If you are looking for profit, I am sorry to tell you that it is very difficulty to just get your investment back with bitcoin mining now.
If you are just looking for fun, an USB miner could be a good start to get your feet wet.
