Whether or not it's profitable depends on how much you're willing to spend. Factors like Mining hardware or electricity costs vary. If you want more information on how to calculate these types of costs, you can check out this link:

You can start participating in free Airdrops. New companies, but also ones already listed on coinmarketcap give away free coins and tokens to follow them on social media.

If you like to know how to get started? Here is a nice article about it:

Bitcoin mining is actually not the best thing you can do right now. Mining altcoins is better than bitcoin if you have just free electricity or powerful rigs, Why not. Begginers like you should start learn Trading, ICOs, Aidrop, bountys etc. Mining is best for electric low fee country.

Yes, I think the trader really needs a lot of experience and knowledgeable about the crypto market. It depends on the preferences and decisions of each person. I do not want to trader. Because I have no experience with it.

I think BTC mining is complicate for new one. You have to learn many things because you are a new one. Why aren't you try trading. I think trading is good for new one. You can buy coins or tokens. Then you can sell them at higher price.

The first thing people need to do is check a few statistics. This includes the mining hardware’s hashrate execution, the Bitcoin network’s current difficulty, and the electrical costs associated with a mining device.  These steps are needed to assess the performance of a custom built or purchased a mining computer. Building custom mining rigs are slowly becoming a dying art as pre-assembled mining computers with Application-Specific Integrated Circuitry (ASIC) have become a dominant force within the industry.

I think mining is unsuitable for these days. Because its cost is high than profits. I think long trading is good for new one.

Greetings everyone,

I am new to crypto currency and have been reading and learning about Bitcoin mining. I am curious if it is still profitable?

To the first time, casual miner? Only cloud mining but there are risks in those ventures (minimum payout thresholds) and the earnings will never make you wealthy.

To make real money at minig you need to deploy a large operation. In business they calm it economies of svale, meaning the larger the scale of your operations the better opportunity for profit. You’ll need 50, 100, 1,000 machines to make any serious, quick profit.

The best way to profit from Bitcoin is to buy some and hold on for dear life.

Thanks. Maybe next year, i will try this method of earning btc, THE MINING. Hope this greatest dreamt of mine will be possible. Have a great day ahead!

Greetings everyone,

I am new to crypto currency and have been reading and learning about Bitcoin mining. I am curious if it is still profitable?

That depends on a number of factors, including how much you're willing to invest, and what your electricity cost is.

It is no longer profitable to mine bitcoin itself with GPU/CPU's, you can however still mine altcoins with your GPU. See https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/

You'll need an ASIC to mine bitcoin. Like this one, https://shop.bitmain.com/antminer_s9_asic_bitcoin_miner.htm

Simple explanation with deep knowledge to picked up. Great shoot.

Hello, first of all, welcome on board, I would recommend you to read as much as you can before investing anywhere. Invest your maximum time and try to understand the things and the process of everything. You can start with beginners and help section where you will find the answer to most of your queries.

Now coming back to your topic, Bitcoin mining is a serious business now and we should leave it for them who treat it in that way. If you are interested in conducting mining business in a serious manner then do a complete research regarding the same and then proceed. Stay away from concepts like cloud mining because it either ends up as a scam or loss-making entities.

Bitcointalk is a great way to learn about how bitcoin works and gain knowledge about other crypto-currencies as well. It's also a great place to find out about interesting new coins before they reach the mainstream because many ICO's and alts are posted here relatively early on in their development. Welcome, and greetings from me also even though I used to visit this site regularly back in the day!

According to my knowledge if your are thinking about mining bitcoins with your own computer it is not profitable now. Instead you can use cloud mining services which offers bitcoin mining facility. Or if you are still thinking about assembling a system for mining crypto then it is better to think about mining alto coins. But do your own researches before doing anything.

what do you mean by that my friend ? I think the best way to take profits is investing on alt coins. Rather than going after bitcoin. Because at the moment bitcoin has come so far.. But there are lot of new alt coin projects with good concepts.. They will have good future with 10x or more than that ICO increments.

It depends on your investment if you want to mine bitcoin. The higher your investment, the higher profit you will get.
And i think it will be more profitable very soon because the value of bitcoin is recovering from 7000$ to 10000$. Expect the best soon.

Well, it's hard to say. If you are capable and willing to invest your time/money for bitcoin mining and manage the running costs, then it might be worth it for you. I personally feel that bitcoin mining is just not easy. I would go for trading and invest in cloud mining rather than mining by myself. It's a risky process.

Greetings everyone,

I am new to crypto currency and have been reading and learning about Bitcoin mining. I am curious if it is still profitable?

That totally depends upon several factors:

1. Power or electricity cost
2. The power of hashrates of your rigs
3. Which coins do you mine
4. How low or high difficulty at the time you mine the coin
5. Block rewards of the coin.
6. Block time of the coin.

hope it helps
wow, a lot of factors. Which coins are profitable to mine?

Bitcoin mining is profitable but not just easy , to do mining you need a lot of money to buy a buy a highest PC rig, mining is cost of high electricity. For me it's better to trading or join in campaign than to mining.

Bitcoin mining is not much profitable if you are mining where the cost of electricity is high there are a lot of factors like difficulty which may affect your mining output. I tried it at home and finally decided to shut it down and started mining through cloud mining. But its risky.

Bitcoin mining is a business now and we should leave it for them who treat it in that way. The casual days of mining on CPU or GPU are gone. However, if you can set up a mining farm basic setup with the required hardware and if you have skills to maintain it then you can definitely go with that way. I believe that mining is not a quick money business and you mine the coins and get returns in the future when the price of those mined coins gain some value that is worth more than your investment in mining.

Well, in the world we live in right now, you can learn almost about everything online. From cooking, to DIY’s or home hacks and now even learn about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency.

Just open a browser and Type in: Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency and a hundred or even more search results about it will appear and you get to learn from it.

However, there are some that actually will guide you through out. Like they provide courses for you to take and share strategies with proof.

Yes, it's clean. But here they earn a lot, only professionals, you do not need to think that newcomers earn a lot. Therefore, first of all it is necessary to understand everything and only after that to start investing money, it is very easy to lose.

Hard to say. If you can not invest (cost/manage/time) enough too much. I think It is very risky.

For me, only those with high-powered and specialized large scale machinery are able to profitably extract bitcoins nowadays through mining. While mining is still technically possible for anyone, those with underpowered setups will find more money is spent on electricity than is generated through mining. Imagine you have larger scale competitors to extract crypto in the mining business, you'll be left out.

In other words, mining won’t be profitable at a small scale unless you have access to free or really cheap electriciy. Smiley

You're probably better off mining altcoins with a GPU rig (these are more versatile, as with GPUs you can mine multiple algorithms, whereas Antminers' focus is Bitcoin and these device only support the SHA-256 algorithm). An added bonus with a GPU mining rig is that you can resell graphic cards, whereas Antimners will eventually become expensive paperweights (check out the prices of older devices & their hashing power - pointless to run them currently). AdolfinWolf mentioned NiceHash, this is a good starting point for any beginner, since it allows you to sell your hashing power to mine altcoins (while automatically switching to the most profitable algorithm) and automatically pays you in Bitcoin.

That depends on a number of factors, including how much you're willing to invest, and what your electricity cost is.

It is no longer profitable to mine bitcoin itself with GPU/CPU's, you can however still mine altcoins with your GPU. See https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/

You'll need an ASIC to mine bitcoin. Like this one, https://shop.bitmain.com/antminer_s9_asic_bitcoin_miner.htm
