1. A brand new laptop for what? using the Trezor? that won't be necessary as you will be asked to confirm sending funds from the device itself so even If someone could have access to your computer, he won't be able to use your Trezor funds even If it's connected to the PC.

2. If it's not a public wifi then I don't see on why you shouldn't unless you have a reason to believe that you are targeted.

3-4. How long really depends on your PC hardware and internet connecetion but since your PC is old, I believe It's not going to be fast. So I suggest exporting the private keys from Bitcoin Core, importing them to Electrum (do that while being offline) then turn on your connection and send them to Trezor address.

5. Whatever fits you really, Trezor already have a Chrome extension.

6. Don't be paranoid, as long as you are not downloading random files from the internet, you have nothing to worry about.

I have a wallet from 6-7 years ago I just recently received my Trezor in the mail. I have some question concerning safety. I have a few USB sticks with bitcoin QT wallet. I uploaded and put away offline. All the same wallet just back ups.

1) Do I need a brand new laptop ?n the one i have now i have had for a while. Could it be risky to use ?

2) Should I use my WIFI ?

3) Should I first put my USB drive in laptop offline then check ?

4) how do i get my bitcoins from my old wallet to trezor safely ? I do not want my laptop to update 6-7 years of blockchain that is very risky to leave my coins online that long correct ? Any faster way to update.

5) electrum is the better option for a wallet to go with trezor correct ?

6) what else should I be looking out for ?

I am not a very tech savvy guy. So the easier the language the better. I am just worried with all the stories bout hacking etc etc I want to be super careful in moving my coins safely. As much advice as I can get would be amazing. I thank you in advance and sorry about all the NEWB questions.
