So after more then a month wondering why I couldn't reply or post anywhere in these forums, I noticed this newbies forum.  As Homer Simpson would say....."DOH!".

I've been mining since early July, when a friend convinced me to start, but I had heard about bitcoin from over a year ago.  Now I kinda wish I would have looked into mining sooner.

I started out with just a couple of AMD video cards that I picked up while on sale (a 7850 and a 7770) and together using two instances of GUIminer I started pulling about 500 Mh/s.  And like any other good obsession, it soon wasn't enough.  I hit up eBay for three Sapphire Block Erupter USB's and I ordered an Anker 10 port USB hub.  I flipped a coin (ironic maybe?) and decided to roll with CGMiner for the ASIC miners and after a few hours trying I had it all figured out and running.  Fast forward to today and I'm currently running 23 little Block Erupters with those two AMD cards and I'm averaging around 8Gh/s.

Needless to say, I've surpassed my friend that talked me into mining.

So what does the future hold for me?  I'll add additional miners every so often, maybe try out that next new exciting piece of mining tech when they become available.  I love a good challenge and a little risk every now and then....right now I've got a drillbit "little thumb" reserved and a little single ordered from BFL. (yea, I've not got my hopes too high on BFL.  At least I used Paypal...)

See you around the forums.  /Wave
