Its really not worth mining with a nvidia card. Power to mine ratio.

If you want to walk on water, get out of the boat
Well, had I known about Bitcoin mining several months ago, I would have bought an HD 6950. But I'm stuck with this card now. And I am too partial towards Nvidia to make the switch.
Well, then keep nvidia, less difficulty for us  Grin

Mining with Nvidia cards is not optimum, if you want to get into mining maybe an ATI card would be a very big difference

Hi. I am new to this whole Bitcoin thing, and I've started mining with my GTX 560 Ti, using the CUDA client via the GUIminer. I am getting roughly 86 Mhash/s.

I have just one question: I just signed up for a donation of 0.01 Bitcoins from the Bitcoin Faucet, and my Bitcoins have yet to appear in my wallet, even though the transaction was initiated hours ago.

i have a 480GTX and my hash rate on that card is like 115-125MH/s. I`m using RPC Miners with this settings:

Code:
rpcminer-cuda.exe -url=http://pool.address:8337 -user=wallet.address -password=x -gpu -aggression=10 -gpugrid=512 -gputhreads=480

not cost effective. 480GTX price in the UK £300+ and AMD Radeon 5870 price is £160. 5870 does 414 MH/s with core OC'd to 900MHz

Yeah, GeForce cards aren't much good, I just sold my two 8800GTX cards and bought Radeon 5850 Extreme cards.
There's a comparison table of all the M/Hash's in the Wiki https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

Also I have read that yes the Bitcoin faucet is dry but some online foundation that accepts Bitcoin donations has decided to donate them all back to Bitcoin faucet to try and strengthen the currency, so hopefully that will happen soon.

Aren't Radeons better at this thing, though?

Oh well, guess I will have to press my 13-inch MacBook Pro with its 9400M into service soon. And... are Intel HD Graphics 3000 Open-CL compatible? I don't think so, but if that's the case, then I can ask my sister to mine on her laptop...

I read somewere in the forum that bitcoin faucet has dried out. I might be lying though. Btw, Geforce cards will not have a great hashing power. their GPU's are designed to work in a different way. My old Gf8800gt was doing 23Mhash/s only..
