You cannot mine bitcoins with any pc , just go back to the future and mine bitcoins with pentium 4 and yeah you are late very late. You need miners to mine bitcoin hope you understand because difficulty is increased so much these years you cant mine with pc sorry.

Ok, I was just intinding it to be for fun and something for me to tinker with, and thanks for the input everyone! Oh, and where should I get the Gekko Sidehack stick, sounds like a good idea?

You shouldn't it will never pay for itself.  You need 2 things to mine a fast standalone ASIC miner and really really cheap electric. USB has gone the way of the GPU not worth fooling with.

Ok, well, thanks for all the reply's!!! Wink

There is no point attempting to mine Bitcoin with a PC, probably the very low hash rate is why you are seeing nothing Poolside?

Rich

Correct. About 5 years or so late to the party. Get a Gekko Sidehack stick USB key for 25$. You'll have 8GH/s+++ (8000mh/s+). Which is still an irrelevant number, but at least the hashrate will be detected.

The current unit of measure is 1TH/s which is 1 million MH/s, which is still a measly 0.09116444BTC per month atm.

Hey everyone,

I'm having trouble mining in slushs pool. I'm using guiminer, I have set the pool to other and used stratum.bitcoin.cz with the port set as 3333. I have a intel i3 in my desktop with integrated 2500 graphics. Somehow guiminer says it is mining a 1.4 Mhashes, although slush reports no work at all. Whenever I use my cpu, It wont stop saying "starting" and will sometimes skip to 1.3 Mhashes and sit there with no activity. I have tried rpc miner and pooler cpuminer all with slush's pool and ghash.io, nothing works. Please Help. Here are the pictures of my summary and console. https://gyazo.com/3b336361e8b9fb4614de1191b64d2e3d  https://gyazo.com/1192bc6ca2b926d543a48daa02492242
