Hi, I have never had miner shares before, but im interesting in obtaining some. I want to buy some shares of AsicMiner, doing my own research this sounds like the best option I guess.
So basically its like a stock yes? Ive traded in the stock market so im familiar with how that works, but I also get paid every week?
I created an account on bctc.co  - Is this the best place to get shares?   I want to buy soon, thanks.
by the way, on that site it says AsicminerPT  what does the PT stand for?
Ok, I figured out it means pass through shares, so how do I buy a Direct Share ?

BTCT has 2 share classes reread your questions
Direct shares are
https://btct.co/security/ASICMINER-PT
TAT shares are 1/100 shares
https://btct.co/security/TAT.ASICMINER

A strategy is to use your spare dividends to buy 1/100 shares and hold full shares
Also for small investors a full share is a lot more expensive than the pass-thrus
That said holding passthru shares can be cheaper if the price differential between the full shares and the pass-thrus is big enough
Here is a prospectus for the TAT shares

PT=pass though. On btct.co,  Burnside holds "real" shares for you but gives you all dividends/benefits of those shares to you. There is nothing wrong with buying PT shares. They have some benefits but come with a very slight amount of extra risk.

If you want to buy, right now it doesn't look as though many people are selling actual shares so PT shares may be a good option.

I recommend you do a lot of research, there is plenty of threads with all the info you need. just look around.

Dividends are paid weekly
Direct shares can be bought on the auction's thread
But I would recommend buying them from a pass-thru such as havelockinvestments btct or bitfunder
They all offer shares direct shares are usually for bigger purchases
Hope that helped

You'll have to find someone selling them on here. ASICminer isn't selling direct shares anymore.
