I guess you are done for. Even if you request Theymos to get your account back by reseting the password you will always need to have access to the email. Hope you learn something from this!
Email address can be reset (changed to new one) by the admin (theymos) if the ownership of the account is proved.

I guess you have no option than forget about this account and open another one! You should have remembered about creating a real email account for this account, that way you would not be having these issues!

I currently have access to my account (this one) on my phone, however when I set it up last year I used a fake email address.

I have since forgotten my login password and obviously cannot make any profile changes as a result.

If I logout from this phone, I will forever lose access to my account.

Can anyone/mods help?

I am willing to prove I'm the original owner if necessary.

He means you should post your Bitcoin address on this topic : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.2800
once you do that , people will quote your post and you will be able to sign message on the future to proove ownership of the account later . In case anything happens (hacked , stolen , lost password) , theymos will recover the account .

That's a pretty good idea. I guess it is useful if users did this upon registering or something. Not useful for older accounts, as the person staking an address could have already compromised it etc.

Anyways....back to my situation...is Theymos the only one that could help me? Any other mods?  Sad

EDIT - I just replied from the account I have actually been using on my laptop until today. Doh

Moderators don't have access to the database so I suppose they can't recover accounts .
there is two moderators on the forums : BadBear , Theymos but I guess they have different jobs and I guess only theymos recover the accounts so yes ... he is the one who can help you only .

By stake an address, I presume you mean save an email address?

Unfortunately can't do this as it requires the password to save.

Make sure to use an address from where you can sign (Electrum , Multibit HD , Bitcoin Core etc ..) and not exchanges because you don't own the private keys needed to sign a messagee there .

To be honest, I thought this account was lost until I randomly opened this site on my phone.

If you see my history, I posted images of a miner.

I was thinking I could post these again but include my forum name or message...

See this : http://fieldguide.gizmodo.com/how-to-find-long-last-passwords-hiding-in-your-browser-1638976827
You may be able to get the password if it's saved I suppose .
I don't think that will work since the site uses cookies for determining your login status. What happened was that he had the cookie for this site and it never expires until he logs out.

OP, you should stake am address now so that in the future you can recover your account.

well it is really a serious problem , Do you use any password manager in your phone.
Anyways you can always request Theymos with sign message from this account to regain your account , but still you need a valid email.
