Hi everyone. Specifically, I'm trying to compile blakecoin cgminer source to work for Ubuntu 13.11. Using tutorials, I've managed to get cgminer running for various scrypt coins, but I don't really know what I did, so I can't figure out how to apply that to blakecoin (which uses blake-256 algorithm). Could someone explain what's happening when you're compiling and why I need to compile a different version of cgminer for a different type of coin. I'm a total Ubuntu noob, I'm just trying to learn what all the commands I'm typing in actually mean so I can actually use critical thinking skills to get things working rather than having to rely on very specific tutorials every time.

Maybe a very descriptive tutorial of how to get started mining blakecoin, explaining why you are doing what you are doing in each step, would do the trick. I know that's asking a lot, but I think it would help out a lot of people. Info is so spotty it makes it hard to learn. Thanks.
