There's a list of trusted escrows here. You can find the rest of the escrows here (the thread haven't been updated for some time).

P.S. An escrow is just a person in the middle who manages the transaction to prevent either party from scamming each other, right, or am I completely misunderstanding this?

Right.

I know that this subforum is more for newbie bitcoin questions, but this question probably has a rather simple answer that most everybody who has experience with this forum knows.

So how do I go about with finding an escrow? I read the “Trust No One!” thread, although that doesn’t really answer my question since I kind of need to trust my escrow, right? One of the biggest reasons I came here was so I’d have a place to try to buy into (and maybe sell) some odd alt coins, and as a new member here (with 1 post as of writing this) it would make sense for others to not trust me (I could just be a scammer hiding behind TOR), and since I’ll probably be interested in doing exchanges sometime I’ll probably need help finding an escrow that I can trust. Any advice?
