Maybe the guy is honest and truly wants to donate some BTC to you.

In this case, just download Electrum from electrum.org

Create a new wallet and click receive . You will see a receiving address. Just give this address to him and ask him to donate in this address. If this is not a scam, he will transfer the coins to your new address.

ask the person who send you QR code and private key how to use.

first you have to dowload electrum or mycelium wallet and scan QR code for watching balance only and go to pc offline [already electrum wallet] to check it correct private key into your QR address.

Why that person didn't tell you how to recieved that transfer if it Donation ?
If that is real donation, you only recieved it without any problem.

I'd assume he assumed OP already familiar with Bitcoin or crypto. Even if he didn't, he could Google or ask in forum like this. Assuming he really did donate the Bitcoin though I'm not sure why he'd do it that way.

Considering the donators know OP WhatsApp account, I assume they're at least know each other unless OP number can be found easily on the internet and anyone can contact him. If the latter is the case, looks like OP need full caution. At least don't fall for scam where he ask you to send Bitcoin first for the transaction fees.

If the person sent a donation to you, shouldn't he be asking you to create a wallet beforehand? Any wallet address that isn't created by you should never be trusted, assuming you are the end user.

There's nothing wrong with accepting payments as a private key, assuming you immediately swipe the amount into your wallet as described by nc50lc and Pamoldar. It's true that similar angles get used for scams though.

This whole donation thing smells fishy.
But anyways, try pamodlar's suggestion but install android version of electrum instead if your PC doesn't have a webcam.

In the wallet creation process (import prv keys/addresses).
When prompted to input private keys, use the "camera icon" just below the input box and scan the QR code.
After a successful scamscan, if the output starts with "1, 3 or bc1" it's an address and the donator is a scammer;
if it starts with "5, K or L" that's a private key, create a new wallet and sweep it instead so others wont be able to spend it (fingers crossed that it's a private key).

which means the sender is hoping you'll install a watch-only wallet. That means you don't own the Bitcoins, and anything you send to that address will go to the scammer.
it is possible.
My advise to OP is just do some reading in the forum.

First figure out the QR code. If you see the value of the QR is the same as the 34 character string given then don't bother to restoring anything. And never send bitcoins to that address or ask anyone to send bitcoins to that address.

Dear all, I have received some bitcoins as a donation.
WARNING! Do you trust the person who sent this to you? If you don't trust him, you should assume this is a scam.

The person sent me by Whatsapp a QR code and a code with 34 letters and numbers all together (it is not the 12 words master seed). This QR Code is a printscreen of the Mycelium app. How should I proceed to receive these bitcoins? I have already created an account in a bitcoin wallet but I don´t know how to receive the transfer. Sorry if it is too basic! I am a beginner! Tks!
It sounds like someone sent you a Bitcoin address only. My guess is the QR-code gives the same address, which means the sender is hoping you'll install a watch-only wallet. That means you don't own the Bitcoins, and anything you send to that address will go to the scammer.

Which software you are using? I advice use Electrum.

I assume 34 character long phrase might be a private key (not sure but I am assuming). Using Electrum try restoring a wallet using this 34 character long phrase.
The 34 character long phrase is the bitcoin address. May be the QR code has the private key. Find something to read the QR code. If it's gives a long character string then this might be a private key. It that is the case then use this when you restore the wallet:
"Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys"

By the way, the best way will be to ask the guy how to use it. So, if that is the private key then he will tell you.
