Did you knew the supply of this digibyte token. 60% tokens are in running when still 20% token has control by admin. Top coin will be pump only when whole crypto currency will pump. Check your experience select a coin out of 200 coin from coinmarketcap, this investment for short time holding.

If all you have is $100, them I will suggest you invest in established coins lite ETH and BTC instead of putting your money on one coin that the future has not been decided yet.You need to be wise when making an investment especially when you have limited resources.

Go away, don't try to invest in something you don't understand.  After all what do you expect from that disobedience?  you better learn cryptocurrency deeper, the risk is great, you will only throw 100 $ is useless if you do not understand.  are you fomo?

Rule #1 of investing: Do not invest in things you do not understand.
If that isn't the number 1 rule, it's got to be in at least the top 3.  Obviously op got a tip from someone about digibyte, which is currently trading for 79 sats.  That's just awful, and I seriously doubt it's going to make a miraculous comeback.  He'd be better off using that $100 to buy bitcoin or Eth or something similar instead of these bargain basement shit coins that look like they're on sale.

Or better yet, hold onto that $100 for now and get educated about the crypto market before making a purchase.

P.S. I think DigiByte is crap.
I agree.

I don't know so much about digibyte but i have seen ot as payout options at a website i worked at. The withdraw fee was very low. The rest were as normal while digibyte was a fraction of a cent. I know its been around for a long time and it's probably here to stay so it should be a sound investment. I cant see a reason not to invest. I mean if you must onvest in something then investing in digibyte is much better then some of these ICO we see.

You won't see the true value if you only look at it for two days. If you plan on taking a long term hold then this may be the best time to buy DGB (Digibtye). It is certain that its price will rise in the coming years, and especially now that Bitcoin Halving is expected as they are sure to join the rising price of bitcoin as well.

better investment in good coins, Bitcoin, ethereum, bnb, ADA, Link. for digibyte, I held for a year ago. and lost more than 70% of my assets. there is no update to DGB as long as I hold it. there are still other better coins. I suggest choosing another coin, not for DGB.

You can do such coin selection automatically via modern crypto hedge funds like C10 provides investors with exposure to the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, while limiting loss of capital through a dynamic cash hedging mechanism (autorebalancing to cash on low crypto market). The weekly rebalance period allows such investments to be nimble and it would have been able to retain the vast majority of the fund value at the peak of the bull market.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for cryptocurrency investment and I also appreciate your passion for future preparation, but I think you are having a wrong choice of investment here, digibyte is one of those coins that is being forgotten already and I don’t think that there is much future awaiting this coin, forget all the people promising high yield of return with it, it is impossible for a coin to yield profit when there is not going to be an adoption for it.

There are better coins with better technology that people wants to adopt, and these are still the top 10 to 20 coin that you can see in the coinmarketcap if you check it yourself, and of which the number one coin that should be of a very high priority to you right now should be bitcoin, with this $100, you can imagine what you investment would have turned to by the time that you are 25 years of age and before you even turned 25, some of these altcoins would have surely dies of the market including this digibyte you planned investing in.

You came when the market became more complicated than before.Investing at this moment would be a huge risk because of the market behavior we are seeing right now. Investing right now would either give you huge profit someday, once recovery take place, or huge loss if you would be investing to the wrong crypto. The problem is lack of assurance on when will recovery take place. Given such situation, I do highly suggest investing to huge cryptos such as BTC, LTC, XRP, and the likes. These coins ould be less risky to invest.

im currently watching a couple coins, Function X, Dogecoin, and VeChain. these ones have gone down in value while Enjin Coin, Basic Attention Token, and XRP have gone up, especially BAT. im curious if people purchase coins while they're rising or while they're at their lowest. such as BAT, should I invest while its climbing? or wait. im just trying to see how the market works now and how short term and long term investing is

Buy low, sell high.

Of course we run into the little problem of not knowing where the low or high actually is ... or I'm basically saying, nobody can really say when to invest into a coin or not. Generally speaking though, it's not a great idea to invest into a coin while it's pumping ... early pump is fine, mid is risky, and at the end you'll get stuck. But as I stated, it's not always clear where those points are.

If you want BAT, look at publishox and the brave browser, gather up some freebie coins. You won't make much, but it's not like you have a ton to invest to begin with. You'd at least get some guaranteed profit that way.

Day trading DigiByte would be better than "investing", in my opinion. It's way too risky to invest in cryptocoins that are not top 10. Besides you are a newbie and shouldn't be dabbling in lesser known altcoins.  DigiByte was doing quite well in the past until the 2018 crash though.

Why not invest in Bitcoin? It's the safest Cryptocurrency to invest in and can be more profitable long-term.
I highly agree with you. First of all, I think it is better and more beneficial to go with potential coins like bitcoin but still if someone has decided to try new ones, then he should not believe them to exist forever or return profits like bitcoin. If there is some coin that is hot topic, day trade with it and earn. Long term investments or even short term ones should be done with bitcoin or ethereum.

Forget about quick buck because the chance you'll get broke is high. But if you are in need, look for those coins that have high liquidity and volume, you can make better with those. First definitely is with bitcoin, the volume is high and it's one of the best coins that you will ever trade.
DGB has also high volume but if you are unsure with what you do, better to gain more experience and be open with self-teaching through the possible outcome that awaits whether it will be negative or positive.

You are quite young, congratulations because you are familiar with cryptocurrency, hopefully, you can earn money and can get a lot of lessons from here.  Well, Digibyte is indeed quite potential, especially after a sharp decline there has been no significant increase, this could be one of the opportunities to take part in the bounce.  In addition, the product is still growing, so for long-term investment, I think it is quite promising.  the important thing is you have to understand the risks, I also recommend analyzing other potential tokens or coins, dividing investment into a good strategy.

Some of the very recommendations I bought for the first xrp. Xrp is a very potential coin because behind them are the world's big banks. Second bitcoincash, many media say that bitcoincash will be able to exceed bitcoin in terms of fast shipping and low cost.

Both are profitable and established coins wherein one is unofficially backed by the bankers and if you really wants to earn profit from Ripple then set a target and auto trading as the value keeps fluctuating with a small margin and you need to utilize those small margins to make your profit. When it comes to BCH I don't want to comment much but just a suggestion that all the coins listed in coinbase worth the investment and BCH one of them.

It is always nice to see new and young people interested in this market, but this is my issue you admitted that you do not know in which coin to invest and how to do it, tell me it is not that a sign that you do not really know what you are doing and that you should wait until you do? Investing is not something you can learn as you go, you either know how to invest or you do not, and if you do not it is better to abstain to do it or you could lose your small capital.

I like the idea of having research first where to invest your money first before making a move, however, perhaps, the best option is to invest in top-ranked coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP not in currencies that you don't have knowledge with. Since you don't look for fast income then I'd recommend investing in top-ranked coins for long a term. This is way safer yet profitable because they have the highest liquidity in the market.

Of course, I would never consider DigiByte (DGB) bad. It is a nice coin with a nice project also. But if it is your first investment in cryptocurrency, I don't think DigiByte (DGB) is the best choice. Why not start with Bitcoin itself? $100 might not be that significant but it is not bad at all for a starter. Or if you are interested for an altcoin, why not choose the top again? ETH is the greatest choice out there. But don't interpret me as discouraging you against DigiByte (DGB). If you really like it, give it a go. It is not a shitcoin.

For my personal advice is I won't recommend DigiByte as your first investing cryptocurrency. According coinmarketcap more than 3000 cryptocurrency on the market, what's the things to attract you choicing Digibyte? Actually $100 is enough for the start if you not looking for quick buck, but look like you doesn't have enough knowledge of cryptocurrency, please learn more before investing.

$100 Canadian is ok for Digibyte it's not a big money to invest on so many coins and since you mention that you just want to feel how to invest in Crypotocurrency, and Digibyte is a good coin to do that, but if you are going to invest more, then check some other good coins to invest like Bitcoin and Ethereum and some other coins that worth adding to your portfolio.

Well your $100 Canadian dollars was a good choice to start for trial and error and if its your choice to invest in Digibyte will thats your call, As a crypto enthusiast I dont easily give a negative remarks in any coins/tokens base on their trading price today, As we all know many good Platforms out there that has a true use case, product and services offered are still cheap due to the market condition. Before investing, make sure you study the project first. If you don't know how their products work and how far they can provide solutions for people, then you need to do your own research. Research is very important for investors to find out how much potential the project he believes in in the future. In my opinion, you don't have to always listen to what people say, all you have to do is learn it self-taught.

You've done a little research but still considering more of other people's opinions than your understanding after that research.
Before investing, always know what investment you should consider.
An investment without proper knowledge will only lead to failure. You should consider your own opinion when it comes to investing and not the opinion coming from other people/investors.

thank you, thats very helpful. I still have a lot more research and consideration before even thinking of buying anything. but thats helpful, I will consider my own opinions too. I guess im too trusting
Do not trust to other people so easily. Not all their words will do good in you especially when it comes to investing.
Most of the time, people use words to attract more investors to hype their investment only to benefit themselves and leaving after you having losses. That is part of their marketing strategy.
It happens too much in the market that people always attract the newbie to the scam projects or coins in order to get their money, well before investment a person should do his own research or he should seek help from those people who could give him some useful suggestions, or if it is not possible then he should invest in those coin which are well-known to everybody.

If you have no idea how to use your money, why invest? even taking suggestions from people you do not know who they are. What is the point of doing this without knowledge? I think you are here inspired by a few people who make a profit with crypto. Firstly, get enough information, afterwards you will find out where and how to invest. I do not know how you found Digibyte, but there is always a better choice.

DigiByte is okay to invest, it was successfully launched in the market, but you should know the risk.
You dont actually need to invest directly to bitcoin, investment should have a lot of options. like going for digibyte. However, Investment should also be at your own, willingness and facing the risk is the answer.

One rule in investing is that, before investing try to gather some information first and find if there are better coins to invest.

In this case, I don't know that much about DGB that is why I don't see it as a good investment for me and there are better coins to invest to like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Why would you choose to invest in a community driven coin Digibyte if Bitcoin and Ethereum can give you more profit in the long run.
Yes. First and foremost, it is important to scan the overall market using coinmarketcap or by just simply scrolling to the listed cryptocurrencies in a certain exchange and look at the volume of the cryptocurrencies and those with high volume should be your priority because it means that there is something interesting in those coin or token. Then that is when you will do your research to finally find out if their purpose is what you really want to invest in.

sorry for the late replies, I have learned more about digibyte and other crypto currencies and I guess the reason why I like digibyte is due to the transaction speeds and security? I have found others that I took interest in as well. but I have also learned a lot in this form, such as "abandonment" which I guess is when a currency goes bankrupt? along with old crypto and new crypto which I have no idea what this means, and long term investing. is long term investing just investing in this for a long time? because a couple of people have stated that DGB is good for long term and others have said it's not. I guess the thing that I learnt the most is how unpredictable crypto is. im also curious what the point of a rank is, is this just to show which is most popular transaction wise? sorry for all these questions.

You have a poor mindset because you think you can easily increase your $100 investment in this market. There are risks that should you consider before buying a coin. It seems that you still not have enough information about how the market works because you said that you need help.
The mindset like that mostly loses more inside this market having a panic emotions once the trend is not favoring your investment position. Adding more knowledge before jumping to any investment not limited with crypto but to any investment platform that you will going to take needs enough
learning in order to have a good decision making.

Your knowledge will be manifested when you go deeper and it will produced right decision from each venue of investment.

I even stated that im not looking for a quick buck and am just curious about the crypto world. You should research more to know which coin is better and why. Don't choose a coin by seeing its catchy logo or high rank! Personally, Digibyte not looks that good to invest for the long term. As you are investing 100$, then I would recommend the FX coin by pundix. This coin has limited supply and already has a very good use case! They are building a smartphone which has Android & Blockchain two different OS! And, before investing, research yourself again and again

Rule #1 of investing: Do not invest in things you do not understand.

Tell me. Why gave you interest into Digibyte in the first place? If your answer is because it's "cheap" at $0.007632, then you need to do a lot of reading.

P.S. I think DigiByte is crap.
This is a marvelous reply to that post, some folks want to invest in coins because they hear it's cheap or because it was hyped by an influencer without knowing the basics of the project or why they think investing in the project will be beneficial. Someone once asked me if he should invest in SNTR, when I asked why do you wish to invest in the coin, his reply was because it was called in a telegram channel. Digibyte is not entirely crap IMO, but for me it's a no no for long term investment.

Digibyte is not a very good coin even among the second rate altcoins. The rule is that when you're starting your journey you should have BItcoin. Spend at least half of what you have on bitcoin and the rest on an altcoin project. You could also go 100% bitcoin which I would recommend.

If you choose altcoins there are top projects like ETH and less popular but still interesting altcoins like Dogecoin. Choose something of that sort and don't waste your time on the rest.

It's a good thing you have interest in the blockchain, blockchain is indeed the future. Your idea isn't bad but before you invest in any project, make sure you are following updates about the project not just the price fluctuations in the exchange. Try to know if the team of the project is still active and also the community. Don't just look at only the price of the token, buying because price is very cheap.

I also suggest if you want to invest in crypto assets. preferably, invest in the top 10 in CMC. if you look at it in terms of 24-hour DigiByte volume, which is 370 BTC. quite ok for me and you should find out more about the coins you are investing.
If you look to diversify, the top 10 is generally the safest route to follow, but people as greedy as they are, they prefer to pick a few smaller coins and then go balls deep in them hoping to bank on a pump.

The reality however is that people end up losing most of their money that way. As far as Digibyte goes, it doesn't add any real utility over XRP, and that's definitely reflected in the price of Digibyte.... it's just another pump and dump coin.

im 18 years old and have $100 (Canadian) that I would like to invest. im not looking for a quick buck or anything, doing this just to see how it is investing in cryptocurrency. upon research, I came upon DigiByte and was wondering if this is a good investment for the long run? ive been following for the past 2 days and it has gone up in value and then down again. if this is not a good investment I would love to hear of others. thank you  Tongue
If you want to invest in Digibite, it's better for you to observe the price movements from day to day to then determine when the right point to buy it and maybe I just add if you want to invest in a long period of time and to avoid the risk of failure, I would advise you to invest into bitcoin.

altcoin is very risky for beginners, and bitcoin transaction fees are also big for beginners. my advice before investing in crypto assets should do research / analysis of the coins you want to invest. for now forget about the kion you bought, and wait for bitcoin to the moon, then your coins will also be with bitcoin.

I also suggest if you want to invest in crypto assets. preferably, invest in the top 10 in CMC. if you look at it in terms of 24-hour DigiByte volume, which is 370 BTC. quite ok for me and you should find out more about the coins you are investing.

Safest bet would to just buy BTC and forget about it. If you prefer a whole coin for some reason (not that it matters in the least as far as investing goes), save up a little more and buy 1 ETH.

Or if you just want something to play with + trade once in a while, do the Dogecoin thing like someone else mentioned here.

Just be aware that $100 can turn into $50 or less real quick in crypto-land.

Sure a lot of people invest in bitcoin even if they don't understand it, but that doesn't make it right. Chances are that those people are in thinking it's a get-rich-quick scheme, and then they go complaining on Reddit when the prices drops in the short-mid term.

People invested in internet back in the days and in many other thing they don't understand.
You are not making any point here  ...sorry.

if you are really a beginner or do not have knowledge of cryptoqurrency, my advice is you start with the highest altcoin investment in the market, such as ETH, EOS and BNB. actually I am also a beginner and not very expert in this industry, but it is far better if you are not in a hurry to invest with coins that you never know its origins (Digibyte)

Digibyte is a good coin to invest and you have done the right thing doing research on it, but since it's only $100 canadian dollar you can use it to follow how the price movements work, so you will know the whole idea of investing and looking in the market, so when the time comes you have a much bigger amount to invest you'll know the idea and get a picture of it.

The term "investing in cryptocurrency" is nonsense, It's correct name is "gambling" and I would say that now is a decent time to gamble! it's gamble because of high volatility that means the worth of your investments can greatly fluctuate over a very short period of time and your investment going to zero very fast. what that really means is that your "investment" should be money you are ready to loose completely without affecting your basic needs.

There is a lot to learn in the Crypto space. there is a lot of amazing projects out there. It's very hard to choose. I hold mostly BTC, but also some Monero, ETH, Nano, BAT, EOS. But yours might become different, i wish you good luck. we are all on the same side even if it doesn't look like that. we all want Crypto to grow together, even if we hate one and other from time to time.

Compare rates on different exchanges & swap.

I think digibyte is currently facing the same fate that many old altcoins will face over time, which is outdated features, i believe that new coins can do better than old coins but scammers seizing the opportunity to scam people, still its better to be on the lookout for better projects, they will find their way to deliver the best

I will not give direct advice. I will write as I think. Now again is not the best time to buy altcoins. Just look at the dynamics of prices. Thus, crypto assets of $100 in the coming months will turn into $30-50 or even less.
I have a Digibyte(in loss), but I would prefer not to have this coin.

To make your first investment and want to make a long investment, you need to look at other coins, because if you only monitor those coins in just 2 days and then to invest in those coins, I think it's still too early. DGB is good for lonsgterm, but it must be really patient because the increase is very little and takes a long time.

Digibyte is an old community based coin. Though there are no reasons for it not to rise in the future, it also doesn't has solid reason to stand out of others.
If I were to recommend, I'd ask you to look into other better coins than spending on a less active project like digibyte. Bitcoin is a good place to start.

DigiByte is like every other new altcoin and one of the things peculiar about them, is that most of them, no matter how highly placed they are, how highly rated they are or how much they are hyped and their prices in the process have grown, they can still fall. Some of them might end up being abandoned. Think carefully before investing.

You should invest at your own knowledge and not just asking anybody in this forum or anybody which to invest. You should be the one doing your research in order for you to not to blame anyone for your lost. Remember that most people are just wanting their coin to be bought massively that'll make it pump. And most probably that's the coin they wanted you to buy.

Since you are newbie on crypto-currency world I will suggest take entry with bitcoin. You are not enough older to play with altcoin. No matter what amount you want to invest. But matter is about your experience. If you expecting that 100$ would give you life changing oppurtunity then you are on wrong track. There is nothing like that, but yes, you might learn a lot by this amount. So my suggestion is just buy some bitcoin and look on altcoin market for understand. Enter some exchange and note on your mind about all movements of altcoin. So very soon you will able to play with it. Best of luck for you.

Dogecoin is only cheaper than Digibyte because of its total supply 121 billion against 12 billion. The fees on bitcoin aren't that high, it only depends on which exchange you're using some have fixed while others have different levels of priority. There's even a few that doesn't charge any fee I couldn't remember which one but you can quickly find it on the trading discussion board.

That is why I recommend (s)he to buy Dogecoin, it is totally cheaper compared to DigiByte if we are comparing it with its total supply. And the price itself is more stable compared to it, there is no reason for a newbie to not buying it unless (s)he is buying Bitcoin directly. And about the fee, Bitcoin fee might be not that high but if we are comparing it with Dogecoin?
with Dogecoin, we will at most spend 500 Dogecoin or approximately around 0.0002BTC as trx fee but with Bitcoin we need to spend at least 0.0004 BTC as trx fee.

if you want to make an investment then the answer is no. Digibyte and by extension altcoins are not good investments. and this has been the case for as long as the altcoin market has been around. they are only good for day traders who enjoy riding the extremely volatile prices which are mostly volatile because of manipulation. for a regular user, specially a newcomer, it is very dangerous because you wouldn't know what to do in the market and end up losing that small investment of yours.

Do your own research (DYOR) you just listen to what people say but don't do it especially when it's uncertain and if it's just speculation. You better research and find out which token should be purchased.

Because of this you will know what tokens have the potential to rise in price over time.

Rule #1 of investing: Do not invest in things you do not understand.
Lot of people invested and are used Bitcoin also, even if they don't understand it also,
so I don't think understanding is the issue here.
- Those are the people who buy bitcoin when the price is at the all time high and sell when the price in the deep because of ignorance of bitcoin's historical prices.
- Those are the people who always lose money to scammers with schemes such as fake trading bots, ponzi schemes because they are ignorant of how the whole thing works.
- Those are the people who have no idea of legit bitcoin wallets and end up sending to fake wallets
- Those are the people who always complain and panic sell when the market is down
- Those are the people who end up getting scammed trying to claim shit bitcoin forks

Sometimes, knowledge is power. You can't just buy what you don't understand and expect to have happy returns. Investing in knowledge is very when dealing with new tech.

am I able to buy part of a bitcoin with $100? currently 1 bitcoin is at $10,414.36 (Canadian).
Yes. You can theoretically even buy like $5 worth of bitcoin. Though buying that small of a amount might not be worth it, but it depends on what exchange and what country you're in.

is there anyway knowing which is destined to fail and which isn't?
There's no guaranteed way to know. But there's a very good chance that bitcoin isn't one of those going-to-fail coins. That's why you're taking a huge gamble when you're holding something that's not bitcoin and probably ethereum.

digibyte also fluctuates becoming valuable and then going cheap again, which is why I was keen on investing/ wanting others opinions on it.

Try to know more about the blockchain solutions digibyte provides to the current world problems, how active the team is and what their future plans are.
Don't just buy because the price went up or down. Look at the bigger picture.

this is my first time investing in anything, and I thought $100 could be a safe start in investing.
$100 is definitely a decent starting investment, especially knowing that you're just starting out.

and Digibyte due to how cheap it is and how it fluctuates (don't know if thats a good thing).
Digibyte is cheap because:

  • Next to no one is using it
  • It's current supply is around $12 billion, while bitcoin is currently at 18 million. Would you rather hold a ultra-rare Michael Jordan trading card that everyone wants or a very common trading card of an NBA player that barely anyone is interested in?

Now, just because it's cheap does it mean that it's a good investment? Definitely not. Dog poop is cheap too. If you think something is a good investment just because it's a cryptocurrency, definitely not. 95-99% of cryptocurrencies will fail. Think about it.

im open and curious upon learning more in the cryptocurrency realm and am a complete beginner knowing absolutely nothing. apart from bitcoin (which is known to mostly everyone).
Then why not bitcoin? Assuming you know a bit of information about it.
