New OS windows 7

I dont remember the exact version, might be 0.3.21 or 0.3.23
Is there any way to find it from log files?

Which OS? What was the exact version you were using before (before or after 0.3.21)?

-rescan is actually only necessary if the old client was older than 0.3.21.

Good to know. Thanks.

Replace the wallet.dat and run your client with the -rescan flag so it retrieves all of your wallet's transactions from the blockchain. That's all you need.

Hi,

I have btc stored on my mac laptop, but it has crashed.
I am going to get the HDD converted to external disk and connect to my windows laptop.

I will install the bitcoin client on windows.

Do I need to just replace the wallet.dat file from the mac retrieved data?

The bitcoin client installed on mac was 0.3.x

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
