I used bitinstant and bitinnovate as well. this is a young company, not sure how well it is but seems working!
Exchange sites are often the easiest way. If you want to get a wider variety of offers post a thread in the currency section, but make sure to use Escrow.
i personally use Dwolla and Bitinstant with MtGox- Dwolla ONLY after i received permission or they will close your account.
I thought verification is only needed for a large transaction? 
I used CoinBase, but it will be about 7 days until I receive my funds.
