RootProject is a great one. Their aim is to end extreme poverty. Here's a link to their ANN thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-rootproject-restructure-capitalism-pre-ico-live-2007772

Hi bitcointalk

I am compiling my list of altcoins that are created for the African market or at least can be beneficial to the Africa's developing economy.. My purpose is to expose these coins to the African audience.

I know about these two do far

Humaniq
Stellar Lumens

What's the purpose in doing that to expose the people that are using the Altcoins and Africa to the public? Don't we all know that not all Africa based Altcoins are legit?

Well there is a new coin that launched called Sudan Gold coin. As the name implies, the project is based in Sudan. Below is the Ann thread in case you are interested.

Why? And also why would anyone devote time and effort into helping Africa? A a country, and people are supposed to be helping themselves and anyone that is taking that away it doing everyone a disservice.  Everyone knows that good coins are few and can easily be seen on top ten list at Poloniex.

You are not 'helping' Africa. It's a win-win. You take your coin there,  make your money off Africa and Africa gets a service solution from you in return

Pretty much all cryptocurrency benefit Africa, especially since the launch of the Luno exchange and legal methods of Bitcoin transaction being allowed in South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The only real problem is accessing mining hardware in central Africa due to high import tax and pretty much no bitcoin or otherwise general mining hardware production.
If we could get cryptocurrency and market it to African countries, and specifically potential miners in those countries, Africa will most definitely benefit.

There is a coin idea right there in your post. I wonder if it will be a shitcoin Grin

Why these two in special?

I think any coin can help Africa, because they are global, so you can earn even if the local economy is destroyed

Well yes all coins can benefit Africa,  you are right about that but what I am looking for is coins that are channelling most of their development effort towards the African market. Humaniq for example currently has an app in beta being tested in Ghana while XLM have already registered a presence in the Nigerian microfinance environment.
