ICO pre-sale or private sale are the same. Your family, friends, private investors can participate in pre-sale, but not open to public. Purpose of pre-ICO, to attract big investors by offering discounts/bonuses, to raise capital for marketing purposes before the ICO goes public.

Pre-sale: Family, friends, private investors.

Full ICO: Public/Anyone.

Bounty campaigns: Anyone.

Hey guys, I am in the process of building up my first ICO and we have a solid utility and working on our whitepaper, my question is this. What are the differences between the different raises? For example say we want to raise 10M total for our hardcap, and our softcap to basically make sure we can do the business is 1M....what are the three different sale types? My objective was to do 2 initial sales, the first one would be to my friends and family, second one would be for my corporate investor friends, and guys I know that are investors, or whales, and finally launch the site and allow crowdfunding to proceed. So which portion would be the private sale, which portion would be considered pre sale and which version the full ICO? How does this break down? Can someone help me understand? Thanks!!!
