Wouldn't it be much simpler to just call and talk? Like maybe ask where he is and stuff.
As for the people above me, life360 is an app that can track you and the other person you are communicating with. The accuracy however isn't always 100% because sometimes, we've found "tracking" that simply doesn't exist.

Like the person above me said, life360. It's a data hog, but it does the job. If you're using iOS, you can use find my friends.

You can use app of life360 who run on android. You can get it on playstore.
I might simply call him to avoid the trouble ? The app will require internet access anyway so I might just use 100's of other options around like whatsapp call,hangouts etc.There is no need for me to install another app especially to track people on rare occasions.
I am looking for an application by which we can track people using GPS, Assume you are at airport and your friend arrived at airport but you are unable to find him. So you and he have the app installed on their smartphone. He shares his username with you, and you put it on the app and you see him on the map realtime using GPS of smartphone. It should not require internet connection, it will be required once when app will be installed.
