Your question essentially comes down to this: "help me, some site I used over 10 years ago, that I don't remember might have something of mine, does anyone know what this place might have been called and if it still exists"

Do you understand how utterly ridiculous that request is? Huh Roll Eyes

If you talk about membership then possible it's an investment site that you can earn with interest by investing bitcoin?

I found an old post here on the forum promoting this website and maybe this is the site you are looking for
Look here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitconent-cryptocurrency-investment-scheme-974

But the site is totally dead and most of them are scams there is no investment site that lives until today.
So, it's impossible that you can get your Bitcoin back.

The same story that I was trying to remember now, it was an app that has a faucet of Bitcoin, Litecoin, and last thing that has a Xapo wallet but the rest I totally forget.  I have checked my email address possible name but I wasn't fine and AFAIK, it was associated with my email address but the problem is I didn't even remember what app it is.

The same as the suggestion ETFbitcoin above, if that is an account for sure it is associated with any of your email accounts, just look at the search button and search the possible combination name as you remember.  That is if, the site was still working on but usually, it was considering a long-dead site or whatever it is.

Are those sites still active?
If you know what is the name of the site possible it is if they aren't close.

Does anyone have the address of those sites?
It's unknown and how we can determine what service it is.

Is it possible to withdraw from those sites?
If you've owned and have control of the wallet it might be, but if that was on the site's control, there's nothing you can is to determine first if they are still alive.

@nc50lc, I don't know if the GA faucet was the first or maybe one of the first, but those first faucets (like the one you mentioned) had a direct payment of reward to the user's address. The only known faucet that is still active today is freebitco (2013), and it is a faucet to which you had to register.

Interesting how people remember doing something 10+ years ago only when they see the price of BTC - but even if the OP is looking for something similar from just 5 years ago, 99.99% of such sites are gone.

Hi
In 2009 and 2010, I was involved in membership sites that offered free bitcoins
But I have not removed the received bitcoins from the site
-snip-
That's too early for custodial services, according to some articles, even the earliest Exchanges just emerged in 2010.

By saying "free bitcoins", perhaps you meant a "faucet"?
Like this old faucet?: freebitcoins.appspot.com

Most of those websites are long gone. Then, if you don't even know what the sites were, even if you find one of those still working, I don't think that there's any reasonable chance that you can prove membership there.
Also I expect that back then they were giving big amounts of bitcoin. I would not realistically expect from a website to hand you $50k or more worth of bitcoin only by asking them nicely and without actual account credentials.

As said, don't make much of a hope for recovering those coins...  Sad

ETFbitcoin list is very good, I would add though that you should think it very good and make sure it was indeed 2009-2010 or it was, let's say, 2016-2017 (or any other years). The difference is huge.

It's been 11-12 years, so most likely the website is either dead, drastically changed or owned by different people. You could try these option to find the website link, but you probably only waste your time.
1. Check your email or browser history, because membership website usually require you to register with email.
2. Check website such as https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page which have article about old website/service about Bitcoin.
3. Use https://ninjastic.space/search to find old post/thread on this forum (this forum have search feature, but it's quite limited). Set the end date to late 2010 and use relevant keyword (such as "membership", "faucet" & "free").

I'm sorry to say, but it's probably in another person's wallet already, and they probably have made so much profit with that already. I hope those people you said: "someone's friends" can guide you, then just contact them. You will never know. Maybe someone remembers what you did, and "maybe" you can recover it but don't get your hopes up.

It's quite impossible since you don't know the url of those sites or even the names of those sites. Moreover it's already 10 years and the price growth since that time is a lot. The owner of the websites must be inactive your account because there are no activity for a long time and take all your bitcoin from your account (this is probably happen if you know the url back).

If you don't have the private key, it's safe to assume a website who's name you don't know isn't going to give you the private key. It's either lost, or they took it a long time ago.
