As posted on the Star Trek coin thread... I have tried this and it is not possible with a 3 series embedded and a discrete card.

You get one or the other.

The only solution that works for this I believe is using the new APUs on a mobo with onboard video that relies on the APU.

i dont remember the sdk being on the list when installing the reg drivers.  but that might be it.

well I want to use the onboard hd3300 hdmi out to my tv, instead of using the 7950 resources so I can get max mining out of it.

I'm not sure that's possible, I thought that only one or the other could be used at any given time.

Have you messed with Lucid MVP or Lucid Virtu?

i have no idea what that is.

i am also having trouble with app skd drive, always get the "install failure" window

"Install failure" may happen if you installed catalyst drivers with the SDK already included in it.
Regarding dummy plug, you don't need them. It was only for older drivers which couldn't activate GPU without a screen plugged in it (11.x drivers).

But why you want to use the onboard HD3300 chipset ?

Try to avoid Catalyst starting with the system (type msconfig in search area -> startup -> Uncheck catalyst). It solved a lot of problems for me.

I have searched but found alot of conflicting info.(dummy or no dummy, etc)

if there is a sticky somewhere please direct me.

I am having trouble mining with a 7950 and using the onboard 3300 for display.  I have been mining using 7950 with display hooked up.  got a new mobo and now I am ready to run this 7950 full on.

windows 32, powercolor pcs+7950, ECS A790GXM mobo(w/hd3300),dual core 3ghz, 4gb ram(5600)

I started out using ati cleanup util(messed up first time)

so then I install the regular amd drivers, restart, then the app sdk, restart.  now everything is working and i can mine with 7950, desktop looks good settings good.

so i restart and go into bios and change pcie to onboard, then swap hdmi to onboard

now windows tells me that i have no driver, also guiminer and the yac miner i use for scrypt-jane does not see ANY gpus.

Anyone have any ideas?  I need a walkthrough.

wish ati had better driver install, they get alot of buisiness from miners so wtf.
