I seem to recall that at some point last year Nvidia released a driver that was causing a pink screen issue on 5xx series cards. The pink screen would occur when starting games or watching Youtube videos. I think it was version 296.10 that caused the problem and it wasn't fixed until 301.42. Since you mentioned that you've reinstalled Windows, I assume you've installed the latest drivers too?

Some people also seem to mention that GPU monitoring/tweaking software could sometimes be the culprit. Some cases of the pink screen issue seem to be solved by uninstalling software like Lucid Virtu. I kind of doubt that's the problem here though.

Pink screens can also be caused by bad monitor cables and connections but that of course seems not to be the case here due to the timing of the issue.

When you mention the video issues, are you speaking of Youtube video? The videos usually use Flash and as a sort of temporary band-aid until you solve this issue you can disable hardware acceleration for Flash. Right-click on a Youtube video (or any other Flash window) and choose "Settings". From there click the left-most tab on the bottom and then un-check "Use hardware acceleration". That should at least allow you to use Youtube until you get to the bottom of the issue.

Wish I could offer more help. Good luck! Cheesy

thanks for the reply Smiley
i've been googling for a week now and i never thought of googling "pink" ,lol ..i have a new angle to look at things now ,thanks

i'm on my last known working driver now 314.21 ..and by video I meant every video (mpc ,vlc or other players)

hi ..help with this please :
I have a zotac gtx560ti 448 cores ,which i 1st had before building my 1st rig and learned minig using it .
however i remember this moment when i was overclocking and playing with its voltages and i got this pink screen(whole screen turnes pink NOT tinted) and the pc restarted .I didnt give it much thought at the time cuz i was only using it for minig and it worked then and still till now .

but now after i got my mining rig running ,I reinstall the gtx solo in my original pc and went and started a game and i got the same pink ,sometimes skyblue screen then restart .
it works fine until the rendering actually starts .this also happens if i play a video .

here's what i tried :
different pcie slots .
reinstalled windows(was on 7 x64 ,moved to 8 x64)
tried powering the card only (2x 6pin) with a 400w psu in parallel with PC's 450w(the psu alwyas always worked great) .
heat is good .
memtest.

the thing that i want to understand is what part is damaged ,as when i run msi kombuster (says dx10 on the title) it works fine ,only tried for a few minutes ,since the crash happens almost instantaneously when gaming/video .how to diagnose properly ?

i'm currently running with a quadro 1800 ,with no problems .

any ideas, thoughts or questions ?
