Welcome back!

The hacker really made quite a mess with your account - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/v2-need-dt-member-3009408

You might wanna PM Lauda to get rid of that tag. I think your reason will be valid enough for it to be removed.

Good luck OP... you were a good account.  Smiley

I'm still here dude. And I'm going to stay. In fact, I'm not whoring out my sig or avatar for pennies and dimes this time. I'll be very clear about my support for appropriate action against those I have regularly condemned in the Politics and Law subforum. This is only the beginning dude, nothing is over. Just see...

seclog shows that you had a password change almost a month ago on September 24th, and an email change probably on that date too. That happened before the email notification thing was added, which is why you didn't get an email. Theymos added it on the day that he posted about it I believe which was 3 days ago.

I had no idea they were so strict about account recovery. Looks like I'm not getting my account back because I put up a blockchain address that is apparently "Watch only"

I do have another address that starts with "12v..." but I haven't used that in years. I'm going to try and recover it, but it wasn't "staked", it was listed on my profile for some time then I took it down. Will it work in proving ownership? I mean the archives say it is

Doesn't have to be staked, just posted on the forums publicly. It should work if you find the key and sign a message.

That explains it.

To OP, you might recognize these adresses. I doubt that's its all "watch only" so just sign a message using those maybe you still have access to some of it.

Bolded is not watch-only. It's an Armory wallet of mine that hasn't been used for years. I'll try to recover it and then post back here.

Thanks all for your help

You have should instead a proof rather than claiming that is yours.

I would really be surprise if even can go through with your case because my account was also stolen and even if i already  provided a good proofs that it was my account they seems do not have plans in solving it.

If it is a part of a hoax scheme better stop it because you are not helping at all

If it is archived then use it as a reference. Take note about the date.

I added email notifications for some security events:

Whenever your email is changed (except by an administrator), your old email will get an email about it with a link to lock your account. The link is valid for 14 days.

Let me know if you find any bugs.

Thanks for sharing. I did not receive any such email, I even checked my trash and junk folders. It is possible that if my Gmail account was compromised, then the attacker was able to delete this notification email. However, my Gmail password is obviously different from my, well, what my Bitcointalk account password used to be. Is there a way to know if such an email was sent out?
I stil doubt your gmail is compromised. If the email is right and you sure checked but there is none then go to that thread and report it so it can be fixed.

P.S. You've been around since 2013 yet you still don't know things like this.

I'm sorry, I'm used to forums where all of this is laid out the moment you sign up. I'm not used to an "every man for himself" type of scenario

Anyway, I digress.

Okay so, it's the REAL awesome31312. I don't speak whatever language is on that account

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/awesome31312-124001

^^ That's MINE. My email address was changed, I had no idea it was changed. Was my Gmail hacked? Fuck! If they send a verification to your main account to change the email address, I either didn't get it or my Gmail was broken into. All my school work/important financial shit is on my Gmail, which  seems intact, nothing has been hacked into, it seems. I even checked the login activity.
I doubt that your gmail is compromised. Here's the possible scenarios:
  • Phising sites. You had input your details there especially now that there is thos fake BTT which is bitcointalk.to
  • You didn't changed your password wayback the database hack.
  • and etc.
Anyways:

1) Why didn't I get an email asking me if I wanted to "confirm" the email change?
The feature isn't available. It would be available in the upcoming new forum.

2) My account awesome31312 has been hacked. Some random shithead is using it to spam/troll the forum.
Then sign a message to prove that it's yours then post it here so that DT members could see it and paint it red temporarily until the account is recovered.
3) I sound normal. My English isn't cringey or fourth grade sounding. My vocab is higher than 99% of the forum's. So you know it's not me
That's a good point and suspicious but still it would make your clam solid if you do what I said above.
4) I remember "staking" from my blockchain wallet, but idk, I hear they change all the time, so, am I screwed? Lol
Base on how you said it, you didn't try signing a message then?
5) How can I get my account back???
Again, sign a message. Follow this.

P.S. You've been around since 2013 yet you still don't know things like this.
