Hi, I'm having the same issue - see my post in that thread:
bitcointalk.org: LightningAsic usb miners based Gridseed GC3355 Tech Support Thread
Maybe it IS broken for the BTC part?

I've never used a gridseed, but I'm guessing there's some sort of switch, button, or something that you have to switch over between scrypt, sha256, or both simultaneously.  Have you looked around the  miner?  Is there any hidden-away tiny little switch?

EDIT:  Possible try following "Part 4" of this guide?: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/guide-gridseed-gc3355-5-chip-setuppowerwindowslinuxrpi-by-unicornhasher-494625

There's no switch around the miner, only the lights, Mini-USB and the Power slot.

i have a few gridseed and if you want to mine btc and ltc at the same time , this link is useful and do exactly with the instructions..   i got my setup to work and it will cause overheating issue if not dealt with..

The problem I still have is that I can't mine bitcoins with it, putting the miner on DUAL mode didn't make any difference. Although I don't think the gridseed is totally broken because it can mine Litecoins.

yea i have the same issue...cgminer is set to sha, and the only instance open,   loads the device, loads the pool..then tells me the pool is wrong....cgminer also crashes.

i have not installed the zadig drivers as they should not be needed in linux. linux will assign the port correctly, but windows has imposed limitations.

I would much rather use bfgminer for both sha and scrypt. much faster with less cpu load. and i can load cpu+gpu+asic's in both sha and scrypt.

so far no luck with this gridseed, most miners i found are built with scrypt only.

Still need help with this :/

Please try to loosen the screws of the cooler. I once had a 5-chip-miner and fastened the screws too much and it didn't mine.

If that doesn't help, try it on a different computer. Maybe there is some trouble with the usb connection. AFAIR there are mining programs which need usb drivers and others don't. Switching from one type to the other can be a problem, because you have to deinstall the drivers first.

Good luck!

I've tried both without luck. But it works perfectly fine when I try to mine Scrypt coins?

Isn't gridseed mine scrypt ?
Bitcoin algoritm is sha-256

You should be able to mine both Litecoins and Bitcoins, although I've only made it to work on Scrypt.

Hello,

Recently I got the Gridseed 5 chip miner. I set it all up and followed the instructions from various websites. But the problem here is that my Gridseed Miner won't start mining.

I'm using cgminer and have already tried other miner softwares without any luck.

This is the only thing that happens after 5-10 minutes:

Any help appreciated.
