These are what I used in both of my rigs, I did not have any defects. Have heard that it’s a common problem though. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074PS39BK/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Have 6 more for the rig I’m building this weekend and just ordered more last night.

I'm getting EVGA 1080 Gaming ones, 1200W should be just right then. Any idea about risers?

My 6 card EVGA 1080 FTW rig pulls around 1000 watts & 9 amps at the wall. That’s @ 70TDP. A 5 card a rig I think a 1200 watt power supply would be fine.

Hey Guys,

My 1080s will arrive in 2 weeks and i'm looking for a PSU and Riser options. Already have racks, cpus, ssds, ram sticks and these two GA-H270-HD3 mobos for x5 1080s each.

I'm thinking of getting EVGA 1200W PLATINUM for each rig. Will 1200W be enough if I underpower the cards? Here is PSU's power slots picture: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71iR2DnioDL._SL1200_.jpg

But my main concern is Risers. What kind do I use that are the safest? I heard that SATA ones catch on fire. What are my options with this setup? Will I need to buy any any extra adapters to power risers from PSU? Will my PSU's power slots be enough for gpus and risers? Please help
