post the addresses corresponding to the private keys. otherwise we don't know what happened. note that only 144 blocks are mined in a day so if you say 200+ confirmations then that's a > 1 day old transaction.

I can see the transaction screen with more than 290 confirmations (last time i looked).
That looks like your previous transaction in your other thread because it was 1-3 days (depending on what's edited) since your last post: /index.php?topic=5311792.msg56374153
and the number of confirmations is just about right.

So if that transaction went through, then you must have already swept the bitcoins.

Note: Their tutorials all explained the "Advanced Preview", but normally and by default in v4.0.9 (or lower?),
it'll just show the standard send dialogue box after pasting the keys, so you must have used it instead and sent the transaction unknowingly.

Thanks for the reactions.

I was called away before i could click Send in Electrum, but i do see a positive balance, so i'm riddled here.

Is the 4.0.9 version of Electrum not always showing a positive balance immediately after typing in the private key?
This is nerve wracking to me.

Only tomorrow i'll be back at the computer where i did the sweep on, so then i can see if something changed in Electrum or i still have to solve the problem.

Will let you guys know.

After setting the fee and clicking "send", the private key will be swept and the coins will be sent to your Electrum wallet. You will not be requested to click "finalize" or "broadcast" unless you select the "advanced" mode.
Since the sent amount showed up in your Electrum wallet, it means the transaction has been broadcast successfully.
To check your balance, look at the bottom left corner of your Electrum's window. You should see something like: "Balance; x.xx btc"

and to answer your last question; if a transaction has been confirmed, you can not reverse/cancel it (not without enough hash power).

If you prefer to sweep your old keys into a new HD Electrum wallet, you can right click on the transaction and select "View Transaction."  You should be able to sign and broadcast it from the pop-up window.

If you have the private keys you can also create a new Electrum wallet by importing them.  This won't create a transaction, and thus won't cost you anything in fees.

Open Electrum click File>New/Restore>
Give the wallet a name and click Next
Select "Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys," click Next
Add your private keys in the field provided, then click Next
Encrypt your wallet, then click Next

All of the transactions should be listed.

Hi,

I'm pretty new here and i need some serious help.

I was trying to sweep btc from my old Multibit wallet to Electrum.
I have my private keys so i put them in and took the first steps.
The amount of btc indeed showed up in Electrum but, i started the transaction to myself and i was called away from the computer.
So now i have not finalized, signed and broadcasted it.

I can see the transaction screen with more than 290 confirmations (last time i looked).
I don't know what this means and i sure hope i still own my btc now, this is very stressfull.
I don't know if i can start all over to make a new transaction and finalize, sign and broadcast it properly,.
Can i for example delete this faul transaction? Or just start a new one? And what happens to the faul one?

I hope someone can help me out here.

Greetings Frank
