I would like to mine altcoins.
May be, use it to mine ETC. May make good profit when ETH will turn PoS.
Yes ethash probably but now I want to just make it working..
I read a thread from first reply but I don't quite understand what to do...

We have a problem with rx 470.
Ubuntu  does not see this card. We are using amd gpu pro drivers.
All previous cards was working fine..
Can anyone give any hints?
Regards,
Adam

If you are attempting to mine bitcoins with a GPU, you are wasting your time and money (unless you are doing it for fun or learning). If you are not attempting to mine bitcoins, you are posting on the wrong site.

Are the LEDs on the card turned on? If not, you may have a loose power cable either at the graphics card itself or at the power supply.

I did a quick google search and it seems there are more people with the same problem. You may check out this thread https://www.phoronix.com/forums/forum/linux-graphics-x-org-drivers/amd-linux/895826-how-the-hell-does-one-get-the-rx-470-working-in-ubuntu-16-04

Looks like it is a driver issue if you check the second post.
