Huh?
Why would grading make a coin more valuable?   Huh

I have no plans to ever do it myself but presumably it does matter to some buyers. It's a standardised declaration of condition at least.

I don't understand the vagaries of coin grading or give the slightest shit so it wouldn't be much of a factor for me.

Hello guys!

I am a proud owner of a really really rare coin. It is a real casascius 2013 physical bitcoin and it is worth much.......when graded. Yes, it is an ungraded coin so it isnt worth shit. My question is, where can i find the reliable company, that will grade this coin.

Sincerely,
-YungCrypto

Op, you are misinformed. As mentioned above, grading is optional, the coins value is at least worth the loaded amount on it, graded or not.

FYI, it appears that ICG is the leading crypto grader at the moment, not ANACS. They refuse to adapt and are run/owned by people accused of scamming in the past. I never send anything there anymore - They dropped an MS69 coin of mine and damaged the fuck out of it when they reholdered it as the first case was cracked. SO... I sold an "MS69" Kialara error coin (Really MS65 thanks to them??) on here with the notes of the damage.... So...  Never again -fuck anacs! Tongue

Bitcoin needs you!
Hi OP, have a little look through this section - COLLECTIBLES

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0

You’ll find everything you need to know about cas coins, including, grading , current price etc.
You may well have a stunning coin , that a buyer might want even though it’s not graded  Smiley
Anyway have a look through collectibles first. Good luck  Smiley

Thank you for the answer.

I totally agree with you. I would absolutely never mail them to anyone.

Anacs attend coin shows where you could get it graded in person. If I was in the US I'd certainly consider doing that and I may look into whether there's one near ish when I'm there next.

There are obviously plenty of other grading places but it might be a little bit of a turn off to certain buyers.

www.anacs.com is the commonly accepted one. I'm not sure whether they still do it, but they used to and that's where almost all Casascius coins have been graded.

I have a couple myself. I'm in the UK so there's no way I'd risk mailing one to them as they're in the US so mine will stay ungraded. Grading is a nice bonus to have but nowhere near the be all and end all.
