You don't need the backup file, it's automatically generated when missing. You only need the wallet file. It would go into your Armory datadir. The default path for OSX can be seen here:

Thanks for the clarification achow101

So If i was moving the armory wallet from a windows machine to a MAC machine

"C:\Users\X\AppData\Roaming\Armory\armory_X_backup.wallet"

And

"C:\Users\X\AppData\Roaming\Armory\armory_X_.wallet"

Where would they go on the MAC machine ? which directory and also, would they need any sort of converting to be read on the MAC version of armory ?

Thanks again

Thanks achow101, much appreciated. I did come across that solution on several forums, but I was wondering if it is at all possible to setup both Bitcoin Core and Armory on a new much faster machine and have my profile display correctly there ? I have setup Armory on a machine before knowing about Bitcoin Core and transfered the money, and then figured out it needs ages, and I don't think the current machine is capable of syncing in acceptable time.

I transferred from blockchain to Armory(offline) giving it a specific armory bitcoin address, so my question is; is there anyway I could install bitcoin core and armory elsewhere and hope after syncing that it would detect my balance correctly i.e. transferring my armory profile to a new machine ?
There isn't such a thing as an Armory "profile". I assume what you are talking about are your Armory wallets.

You can copy the Armory wallet files from one machine to another and use them in another install of Armory. You can get those files by going to Armory's datadir and copying the files with the .wallet extension.

Bitcoin Core needs to sync, and that will take a relatively long time. It will need to download and verify the entire blockchain. That can take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks, depending on your internet connection and the specs of the machine you are running it on. Until the blockchain is synced, your balance will not be correct.

Hey all,

I downloaded armory and installed it (version 0.96.0 on website - date 6/6/2017) windows 64 bit.

I created my bitcoin wallet. Armory told me it was in offline mode. I was still able to request receiving bitcoin, and I used the bitcoin address given to me by armory on Blockchain.info where I sent about £330 worth of bitcoin to that address.

I thank checked my balance on armory and it showed 0. So I started googling what the issue was, and it turned out I needed Bitcoin Core to be installed, so I did that. Now When I started armory all was good and it told me I am in Online mode. Terrible bit is my balance still shows 0 on my wallet.

Please please help, any suggestions would be appreciated
