I have taken a bit of time to search here on any thread detailing how to set up MEW but without any success. I need an erc20 enabled wallet for ICO tokens and myetherwallet tops the list of mentions. Kindly point me on how to go about it and the genuine link to avoid phishing sites, anyone?

Go to the website and click on 'How to create a wallet' just below the 'Enter password' textbox. You'll find detailed step by step instructions there.
Any link to this website you talk about because I just want to avoid the phishers out there. A whole lot of phishing sites...

Edited: Thanks guys, I have succeeded in my quest. I now have my own myetherwallet. Thanks again.

If you have $ 200 you can buy a hardware wallet, such as Trezor, it will be more reliable.

Also, don't forget to print a hard copy of your public address, private key, for backup purpose. Just in case you accidentally deleted the text file you saved the details or the json file.

MyEtherWallet.com

You should enter strong password (and remember it ofc) at the first page and save the keystore file at the next step. After that you will get private key that you must keep in safe place. After that you need to log in to your wallet through (keystore + password) or private key only.
