ok, yea it was my block database.. I deleted everyint (except wallet) and redownloaded. Worked like a charm  Smiley
what would cause the database to become corrupted?

I think it usually happens when antivirus software messes with Bitcoin. It could also just be random disk corruption.

Probably your block database is corrupted. Delete all files in your data directory except wallet.dat.

hi,
thanks for the reply. I have version 0.4.0 and have tried the "--rescan" command, which didn't help. It displays the same error.

Something interesting though. I still have 0.3.23-beta, and when i open it, I receive the same error below, but all dates that i received BTC are correct.

What version of the client are you using?   Version 0.4.0 is the current version, and upgrading to that solved a lot of problems that I had with Bitcoin on linux.

Also, you could try starting the client with the "--rescan" command, which should throw out a bunch of its saved information and rescan the entire blockchain from disk.  I believe the client can sometimes get out of sync, and just needs a rescan to clear it up.  I don't know how to actually do this on a Mac... if you can open it from a command line, you only need to add "--rescan" to the end of the call.

What is going on here? I have not opened bitcoin client since 10/16/11. Upon opening it yesterday I found that many dates that i received btc from deepbit were messed up. Also there is an error at the bottom, and no new confirmations are being made.

thanks
