I think it would be best to wait until the blockchain download is completed. The blockchain is at 130576 right now. You need to be connected for this to happen obviously. What is your connection count in your client reporting and is your block count incrementing?

0 connections, which has been the problem all along. When I reinstalled bitcoin yesterday, it then connected and downloaded up to the current then block count, and then has yet to connect again.

You were probably on the wrong side of network split and these transactions got discarded when it merged.
To be sure don't send it again until your blockchain is up to date

Close the client and use the two commands I posted in this thread

I just did that and something freaky happened. The outgoing transaction with 0 confirmations just disappeared and the BTC that was already debited went back into my total...? I've seen a 0 confirmation sit there for days but never go back into the wallet total.

There is no firewall on right now.

There is only one copy of bitcoin running.

If I send it again, is there a chance it will be sent twice now or not since the money went back into the wallet?

There are 129744 blocks showing on the laptop.

Do you by chance have another client running on your network?

I copied the wallet.dat file -thanks  Grin and moved it to a third computer, downloaded a new wallet, and swapped the file. I have 6 connections and the blocks are downloading. If it all works out I will just reinstall bitcoin on my laptop and try again and then delete it from the third computer.

First go to Settings->Options and check "Map port using UPnP". Restart the client and give it 10 mins.
If number of connections and blocks doesn not increase close the client, click Start and type cmd then press enter. Once command prompt opens run

Code:
cd c:\program files\bitcoin
Code:
bitcoin.exe -addnode=69.164.218.197 -addnode=64.22.103.150 -addnode=173.242.112.53 -addnode=178.79.147.99 -addnode=184.106.111.41 -addnode=91.85.220.84 -addnode=173.224.125.222 -addnode=86.5.50.90

ok. typed all of that in. it went back to command prompt c:\bitcoin after hitting enter, without saying anything profound or any errors. I still didn't see any connections after waiting a while, so I closed the wallet and opened it back up and I still don't see anything.

In taskmanager it looks like there is some minor activity in the bitcoin program.

What Operating system are you using?
Can you tell us how many connections and blocks do you see at the lower right corner of the client?

New wallet is on Windows 7. 129256 blocks. 0 connections.

Edit: I have restarted the computer and reopened the wallet about a billion times in the past 3 days. I have also sat pouting watching it not connect for hours.

I started a new wallet and sent money from my old wallet to my new wallet (new wallet is on a different computer as well). The new wallet downloaded all of the blocks, and never connects now. The transaction has been confirmed over 400 times, and I can see it in the blockexplorer. The new wallet sees nothing. My new wallet is version 3.22 if that helps. I need my new wallet to connect so I can have my money back. Anyone know why it will not connect?? It has been like 3 days:(
