Promoting Bitcoin in India is not a harder task but this is a confusion that if Govt. allowing this activity or not. I listened and also reading on the internet that Bitcoin is illegal in India. In the another way in TV news I watch that they are letting the people know about the Bitcoin in a fancy voice and gauging the benefits of this. So, actually what to do? I don't understand whether we transact this openly it not?

Yes at present there is a dilemma what will govt be announcing the laws regarding bitcoin. Will they be banning and say they are bringing their own coin or allowing btc and framing under the law and regulated by the RBI or Sebi also needs to be check. Hope in coming time all this would be clear and some cheers to the enthusiasts who love btc.

Higher the risk, higher the reward mate. Make peace with the fact that you "may" have to forgo all your investment if things turn sour with GOI and CC. In the meantime, secure your CCs and enjoy the ride while it lasts. Smiley

I am myself trying to promote our love bitcoin, by convincing my friends to accept btc in their stores. Let's contribute to self rule from false sense of democracy.

Might give  a fair idea of usage in India.

Seems to work on Chrome.

I have added a few placemarks for people in Bangalore who I know are involved with Bitcoin.

Doesn't have to be businesses, just users should be useful for now.

Doesnt have to be actual location, just city would be more than enough.

Anyone able to pin their location to the map?

they won't accept it because they won't find any btc customers  Undecided

We have to start some where.  Who comes first the customers or the stores?  I think it's a good idea to suggest bitcoin to the stores.  Once they offer it, customers will come.

Try medical stores. They could be the low hanging fruit to get Bitcoin faster into India.

I have compiled list of e-shop hobbyist electronics vendors in India.Ask them to accept bitcoins. Even if some are ready it would be great.Technical people have greater chance of accepting bitcoin.  Smiley
