I indeed posted a link to Google Drive with wallet.dat's above. Feel free to use them if you're interested. Whether you keep all the money to yourself or share some with me - I don't care much anymore. It was totally my fault and I guess this is my punishment(

P.S: As of 20.08.17 - money are still there.

I can try recover your password. I need then your wallet.dat . This will take time to recover. If you interested, then I will send for you my TORChat messenger id and we can chat. TORChat are decrepted messenger and very save.
Yes... handing over your wallet.dat to a stranger via an anonymous "decrepted" chat service... "very save" Roll Eyes

also, you kind of missed the part where the OP already posted all their wallet.dats:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B3eCKZXI79O8aklyUUk5WXBtWGc?usp=sharing - This is a GDrive link to 6 wallet.dat's

The password should be 13 digits a-z A-z 1-0 ~!@#... and so on. (Only US keyboard symbols) If somebody feels like trying - go ahead.

OK. Good luck!
If you don't help anybody, then anybody don't malice you!

Yea, here you go.

7D{eA(wuH>bks
and
6q#F^nnghqv:E

These are the passwords I definitely used with this very wallet. However, they just don't work for some reason.
I should have another one or two. I will post them in a bit.

UPD: I don't think the wallet has a public address, but it actually should contain 0.032BTC or around 140$ if that makes any difference.
UPDD: #CpN}wA]!.Z3e and nzWt2d>6+|!rn I don't think the problem is in a typo or another password I've forgotten, because one of these would've matched one of the .dat files. Corrupt file?

The problem with dictionary based brute forcing is the fact that I used this http://passwordsgenerator.net/ for passwords.
Only btcrecover with wildcard token list seems like a more or less viable option, but I have a laptop(
I could post the old passwords for those interested in trying. I have not the slightest clue why don't they work for my backups.

The wallet contains exactly 0.03286616 BTC. While for some 140$ may not be a large sum, it's a lot more than what I can make in two weeks.

UPD: Sorry, English is not my first language. Have some mercy.

Ok Im not that technical person who have some skills in doing such encrypting concern especially in .dat file. Maybe I can try and will share ito to the persons which I think more professional on this rather than on me and will link this thread.

Can I have your set of remembered passwords?

P.S Im trying to find the thread where one of the person here successfully decrypt the wallet. Same case as you I think. I can't find it but still Im trying. It just been recently for about less than 2 weeks I guess. You should try to find it too.

I believe the standard fee is 20%, which would be circa 25$. Here's his reply.
"Hi MadViolet,
Thanks for contacting me, but at the moment, given the value in your wallet, it is not viable for me to attempt to decrypt it.
I hope you understand.
Cheers,
Dave"

I offered him up to 50%, but he's not answering(

Might be a good reference if you want. Kinda related to your concern and worth to give this a shot.

Hello guys.

I've lost my passphrase for Bitcoin Core. I have about 5 wallet.dat backups and 3 old passwords, none of which work for me. I asked for help Dave at walletrecoveryservices.com and he refused due to the low price. There's a bit over 100$ on the wallet and I would be happy to give 25% of that to whoever helps me with this.

Low price because of the amount involved in the wallet or low price you are offering to the service?

Yea. I'm already feeling like giving up on it. If I post my wallet.dat's here, do you think anybody would be interested in trying it? I'd be happy with getting even a fraction of them.

I know, it's possible to steal the whole wallet using backups, but I think it's still a better option than the money laying there w/o use.

I suspect that both of those utilities (Pywallet and JohnTheRipper) might be quite old and may not have been updated for a while. You'll find that wallet files generated with the newer versions of Bitcoin Core cause these errors because of the extra data fields that they contain.

btcrecover is probably your best bet... It should be just as capable of johntheripper to generate passwords to try. It's just a matter of creating a token file that generate the passwords that match your ideas.

The issue will be that using the "wildcard" tokens too much will increase the number of possible passwords to test (and possible testing) time by a significant amount.

I'm trying to set up John the ripper. I sort of have an idea of what the passphrase should look like, but it's not enough for btcrecover. However I can't seem to be able to extract private keys (hash) from wallet.dat. Both pywallet and ripper's uitility bitcoin2john give me an error "'NoneType' object is not iterable'".

I already tried btcrecover - "designed for the case where you already know most of your password/seed, but need assistance in trying different possible combinations". I was using randomized sequence passwords T_T.
if you've absolutely no idea what your pw might've been you might be out of luck unless someone with more knowledge on the subject has something else you might be able to try. sorry m8.

unless you can remember / recover the password somehow, id say those coins are pretty lost; if you can try to remember if you wrote the password down or something. I dont think people can really help you out much here, sorry.
However, you can try using this: https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover
read up on the tutorial and see if you can work it out somehow.

you might also read up on this thread where someone had a similar problem; you might be able to glean some other useful information you might be able to use. good luck.
