I have some old bitcoin cash sitting on a trezor wallet and have never gotten around to claiming the free BSV tokens. I read online that the best way to do the split is using the ElectrumSV wallet via
https://electrumsv.io/I'm still not 100% sure how to do it to be honest. The only steps I know are the following:
Download electrumsv from electrumsv.io... Install > click on new wallet > standard wallet > use hardware device > connect the trezor > in the derivation path, choose m/44'/0'/0'.. Click next and the coins should show up. After that you'll have to split it..
At this stage to split it do I need someone to send me some post fork coin to me (ie I give them a receive address)
Is the reason I need to do this step and the one below because ElectrumSV does not have schporr signatures?
If this happens successfully, is the final step that I need the following: go to the receive address on the electrumSV wallet and copy the address there and go back to teh address tab and paste the address there. Then send all coins to myself (not the BCH)?
In all the above steps am I correct in saying that my BCH remains on the trezor and I never actually have to move it to the electrumSV wallet and therefore no risk of losing it?
Thanks for any advice
