V2 is not required. However, you need rolling version which is usually used with asicboost.

Ahh that actually clears up quite a bit with my understanding of asicboost - thanks!

But, the more immediate issue is what software can provide a stratum proxy to a GBT node like BitcoinCash or Litecoin ?

I see LukeJr posting a few places saying only bitcoin is supported in response to the --generate-to invalid address error, sorry for being a newbie, but how else am I able to mine with stratum asics on my own node?
CGminer doesn't do stratum proxying... does it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, sorry if this should be in altcoins - it's far less alt than most Smiley

So I have successfully got bfgminer running as a stratum proxy to bitcoind node, however, when I do the same thing for a bitcoincash node,  with a BCH address after --coinbase-addr bfgminer tells me it is an invalid address..

Is there something else that needs to be specified to make it work? or does bfgminer stratum proxy not work for BCH?

If bfgminer is not the right program, what is? I don't think cgminer has a stratum proxy function? and I'm not aware of any other stratum proxy software?
Something that supports stratum v2 would be nice.. is that what is required to get miners running braiins etc to connect to them?

thanks for any help anyone can offer Smiley

PS. same question also for litecoin, but that IS very altcoin... but if it can also be answered in the same sentence or with a few extra words.... ? Smiley
