Hi Everyone!

I own a little farm at home, I have 96 gpu 470 running since a while and now I have a 10k$ to invest in new machine but I'm really unsure...

Should I invest in ASIC machine or stay with GPU ?

I heard about the new A4 script machine but I dont have experience with script machine...

What do you think about it and why you would go with one vs the other?

Thank you!

I would only buy ASIC for btc/sha256 mining.

You have a good size gpu farm 96 gpus is 3x what I have.

But I have 28th in s9s with 12th in Avalon 721 coming and 8th in ant miner r4

So I suggest getting some ASIC btc/sha256 gear

I thought your electricity price is over $0.1/kWh. So it is not so profitable to mine the bitcoin with the ASIC in the future.

It is expensive in my home to mine with asics.  I have two locations for asic mining.  So I pay less  for power for the asics then I do the gpus.

What gpu do you suggest? rx 480, r9 nano or GTX 1070?

Depends on what you want to mine, if you want to mine Zcash GTX 1070 offers a bit more H/s than Rx 480 or R9 nano. If you want to mine Ethereum you definitely need one of the AMD cards. Still I suggest RX480 as it can mine different alt coins and it's a bit cheaper out of the three you are asking.

It depends for me if you buy using bitcoins or using fiat money and how long you can wait. If it is in fiat buy ASICs without thinking twice. If it is in bitcoins there is no clear choice but I would tend to say you to to buy ASICs, in order to diversify and because Bitcoin's price will be increasing by a nice percentage that year for me.

GPU miners are still making decent money. i make about twice what my electric costs. Now if you borrow money then you will most likely only be able to pay electric and payments with none left over. I have been mining 7 months and can say i have never been negative.

Most small to medium miners using gpu and asics do not even break even most times. Many of my Greek friends here and other miners can validate this claim. I have been a cpu and gpu miner in the past but that did not work out at all for me. I made some coins but I paid way more in electricity. I would suggest you find a good coin and invest in it. Long or short term this will work  better for you.

My choice was Mooncoin. Anyone can use it and it also provides an electrum wallet to use right away. They also have a working platform that you can use to pay or tip other users online for quality content and useful websites. You can check it out here. The Moonlite platform  can be used right now!

Everyone can mine with one single GPU... from Alaska to Kuwait. ASIC is different.

Go with GPU, it's easier to sell if it's no more profitable....
True that, ASIC get deprecated very quickly and you will have hard time to sell out.

Check how much will cost you if you are going to invest in ASIC machine because i know it will cost you too much electricity with that thing. mining with bitcoins is profitable but make sure that your electrity are cheap so in 1-2 months your getting back you've spent into new machine.

You should check out Whattomine to see if your current expenses + speeds would be profitable in whatever you would mine Smiley
