Bumping this with an update.

-new layout
-lots of bugs fixed
-10 users so far
-3 auctions successfully ended

I put up an ultimate game code, itunes, and amazon code up. If you'd like to see any other gift codes up while I'm testing the buying side of things let me know.

This should be opening up so anyone can become a seller within a few days.

Is that the final layout of the site? For some reason it feels a bit messy, for example the login fiels look like they were randomly placed there. Polish up the layout a bit and you'll have a nice site. Maybe make some promotional offers (after the testing phase) to attrack some people. A lot of people have used bitmit, and they are relaunching soon ( I think). So you'll need to draw the attention of some customers. Good luck man, overall is looking pretty good.

Definitely not the finished layout for the site! I actually redid it last night so it looks completely different now. I'm more of a coder than a designer so I was just trying to get it up with all the functionality. I will continue trying to make it nicer looking.

Thats a good idea, will definitely do some promotions once it opens up to more sellers.

And yeah I was bummed out when bitmit closed. StuffCoins is a tiny bit different in that there are no minimums, so its more about giving your stuff away to fellow bitcoin users and them bidding on whoever will pay more. At the moment I dont like the idea of reserves or buy it nows. Want it just a simple auction site to help people get rid of things they dont want in exchange for bitcoins.

Thanks to the users who have signed up so far! Our very first auction closed and the winner got a $1 AMZ.com code. I added some more stuff up and am going to list a bunch of stuff I have while improving the sytem. Next week it will open up to people looking to auction off their items. Anymore feedback is much appreciated, also feel free to test it out and let me know what you think. All the auctions on the site are live.

Hey,

I've heard of bitcoins for a long time but only recently have gotten really into them. I had an idea recently and wanted to do it with just the bitcoin currency being used on the site.

The other day I was trying to figure out what to do with some old blu rays, some unopened old mp3 player, and some old games. I was looking to sell them or get rid of them for as much as I can get. I dont want them, just want to get em out and get some money. At the same time I'm constantly hearing about bitcoin and wouldn't mind getting some of those. So basically the idea is as follows.

BTC only auction site with no reserves (or I guess just one minimum starting point 0.001). I dont want my items to sit on the site forever, I just want to ship them and move on. Auctions can last for a few hours to a few days. If the item doesn't sell, users can have it autorelist. Or if anyone bids on it, it just goes to the highest bidder.

This site might also help users who want bitcoins but dont have any extra cash. Everyone has old video games, movies, books, gifted clothes they've never worn, etc. just sitting around. The site wont really be intended for people selling high priced items since there will be no reserves.

So I've coded it up and did a bit of testing. Would love if you check it out. Let me know what you think or even if you want deposit 0.002 and use the site as a bidder. I'll be up for another 6 hours tweaking/testing/fixing whatever gets reported here.

Right now I'll be auctioning off just some $1 Amazon.com codes that will auto-relist after every successful auction. When the site opens up to sellers (within a week), users will be restricted to auctioning off physical goods. Then after users get high rep and through a verification system can start listing digital goods.

The site is located at http://www.stuffcoins.com/ (may change the url in the future)

Thanks for reading!
