As I'm sure you've already realized, the "Address" tab is a list of addresses that you've sent bitcoins to in the past (not a list of addresses that you can send "from").

Bitcoin-Qt does not have a concept of a "from" address.

As such, the address that you chose is an address that you used to send bitcoins to someone in the past.

That previous person (or company) will now have received those bitcoins from you (as long as they haven't discarded the private key).

There is no way to reverse the transaction.  The best you can do is figure out who you sent to in the past using that address, and contact that person/company.  Hopefully they will be responsible, honest, and trustworthy and will return the bitcoins that you accidentally sent to them.  If they do, it might be a good idea to reward their honesty and trustworthiness with a small gratuity.

You can look the address up in the blockchain to determine exactly when in the past you sent transactions to that address.  This may help you determine who owns the address.  If you are not sure how to do that, you can post the address here and we can help you.

Bitcoin-QT user here for Mac:

I went to the "Addresses" Tab and relabeled one of the addresses I had in there.

I went back to send and clicked on the address book and selected the address I just renamed thinking I was designating it to use THAT address for the SEND FROM address.

Wasn't really paying attention and shipped off a couple Bitcoins thinking it was going to the right person from that address.

Turns out I just sent it to that address.

TLDR: I sent bitcoins to an address made for sending payments (Addresses tab). So I sent it to an address that the client was going to use to send coins from.

Jesus I hope this makes sense....

How do I go about gaining access to that wallet or did I lose all of my bitcoins?

I'll tip whoever is able to help me!
