Hi guys,

I am relatively new into crypto trading and put my self into a situation I would need some advice on.

I transferred BNB from Binance to the exchange “Exx”.
I can see my balance on Exx, but not as BNB, but as BSC.

I can’t trade or convert or do anything with BSC, so I am trying to withdraw it. However, I get the message “Network error, please refresh your screen and try again”.

Additional info:
1) The recipient address I use to withdraw BSC is the one I get from Binance on Deposits. Coin: BNB. Network: BSC. Binance Smart Chain (BEP20).

2) When I try to withdraw other currencies, I don’t get the network error message.

3) I have obviously tried to contact the customer support at Exx, but no answer.

Any help would be really appreciated. Am I perhaps using the wrong address?

In the first place, I am not familiar with this exchange here in crypto space. Second, there are other exchange before you can deposit
there is BEP or BEP20, or have you try to contact their support too? if not, send an issues about your concern using their exchange platform then wait for their response. Just simple as that, Good day Smiley

It's caused by you're using BSC chain to transfer your BNB. You can convert it back easily by sending it to the BSC address and you can create BSC address by downloading trustwallet.
There is no need for trust wallet in this, binance support both binance chain and binance smart chain and the BNB on both exchanges support both. Alll you need to do is to send the coin directly on binance to Exx.

You can use the address that start from bnb which is the binance chain or use the address that start from 0x which is the BSC.

Trust wallet will make it complicated when you can send it directly from binance to Exx.

What could be the problem is either he did not send it to the correct address, or the fault is from Exx which is not new while using exchanges but the customer care should be the one to help if sent to the correct addres.

.
I transferred BNB from Binance (through the network: BSC. Binance Smart Chain (BEP20)).
You're requesting binance to transfer your BNB through BSC smart chain and this will be automatically converting your BNB into the BNB BSC.

.
At Exx, my balance for BNB is 0. My balance for BSC is the amount I transferred.
No idea why my BNB transfer was booked as BSC currency?
It's caused by you're using BSC chain to transfer your BNB. You can convert it back easily by sending it to the BSC address and you can create BSC address by downloading trustwallet.

.
BSC is not a tradeable/convertible currency, so cannot do anything with it...
When I try to withdraw back to Binance, I receive the message "Network error, please refresh your screen and try again”.
The question is does your balance appear on your account? If that was appearing and then just create BSC address on trust wallet and you can convert it back to the BNB native chain.

~snip~
As you have already dig around, there are some people accusing the exchange is a scam, It's based on Reddit and Bitcointalk. And if you see on the trust review site, Exx Exchange has a lot of bad reps.

At first, it seems fishy that the exchange did not have any ToS and privacy policy, and you stated their mail email is dead. It is surely a big red flag.

Regarding, the funds, it does not matter whether the token is still in the recipient address or not. Some exchanges behave that way, they saved the user balance based on the user database, not solely on the crypto address.

On this particular exchange, they might be moving the funds later. Some legit exchanges also did that, they move their crypto balance from their hot wallet to cold wallets. Anyway, they have another email address ([email protected]), have you try to contact it? Regardless of it, I'm sure the probability you receive back your funds is close to zero. Too many red flags on this unknown exchange.

Is it really a scam though?
The best is to take them to their social media handle and post about how they scammed you, this will be the best to do. When last have you contacted their customer care?

I can see that they support binance chain and binance smart chain for binance coin, the deposit supposed to go through if not scam. Also have you checked the address very well and you are sure it correspond to your Exx destination address?

Is it really a scam though?

I can follow my TxID and see the recipient address for the funds. (recipient address = my wallet address on Exx).

The balance is the same as I transferred. No transactions before or after that point at that address.

So is this really a scam?

Well, I cannot move my funds, but they are still there at the address. The address hasn't had any transactions before/after mine.

If this is a scam, how will the scammers receive the funds? Or is it something else?

~ mails to [email protected] bounce back…
If your email bounces back, it's a sign that the email address no longer exists.

Unfortunately, it's not the crypto network issues/cross-chain transaction. It is solely on the exchange hand about your particular problem. After all, I never heard this exchange before, and I did search around, and yep, there are a few scam accusations toward this exchange.

I also don't think if there's a way to get your coin back. I suggest you to make a thread on the scam accusation board to wary others about this exchange.

Can you tell us the Exx exchange site you visited? Is it https://www.exx.com/ ?

Some people can make the mistake of visiting a cloned but fake site which belongs to scamu. Is the site the same as above one?

Yes. It is the same site as the above.

I transferred BNB from Binance (through the network: BSC. Binance Smart Chain (BEP20)).

At Exx, my balance for BNB is 0. My balance for BSC is the amount I transferred.
No idea why my BNB transfer was booked as BSC currency?
BSC is not a tradeable/convertible currency, so cannot do anything with it...
When I try to withdraw back to Binance, I receive the message "Network error, please refresh your screen and try again”.

Customer support not replying. Main support e-mail address is dead.

Started to do some digging, found a lot of people who can't make any withdraws or get in touch with the support. All posts starting in 2021. Before that it seemed to be a legit exchange.

Sites like that should be shut down...

I believe my chances of getting any money back are zero, but in case you believe there are some ways to retrieve money, let me know Smiley

Thanks for the replies!

After some further research it seems like the Exx exchange is a scam..
After being a legit exchange operator for a couple of years, plenty of complaints from people claiming not to be able to withdraw can be seen online starting from yr 2021.

No replies from customer service and mails to [email protected] bounce back…

I guess my chances to see my money again in such situation are quite slim  Embarrassed

I never use Exx exchange. Did you use BSC network when you deposited BNB from Binance in Exx exchange? If you deposit BNB, BSC is not supposed to show in EXX exchange. Because BSC is not a separate coin. Your withdrawal is all right. Maybe BNB withdrawal maintenance on EXX exchange.  You try to contact the support team.

It is not hard

BNB addresses start from BNB
BSC start from 0x

You can use both to deposit or withdraw if both exchanges support it.

If one is giving you error, then try the other for the withdraw, but I do not think one should give you error, try to check if withdrawal is not under maintenance which could be the reason.
