Rollbit is for you. Take $RLB token!
About this locked account reminds me of the incident of my account being locked which I am now using.
Because I forgot the password then I reset it using a secret question, but after that the account was locked.
The secret question was compromised in past hack of the forum and after that, it was set to automatic lock an account if a user uses that option.

PSA: ACCOUNTS WILL BE LOCKED IF THE SECRET QUESTION IS USED TO RECOVER IT
Removing Secret Question already with an answer.

Hi taufik123,
My account predates the implementation of secret questions, it seems, so I was unable to request a password reset using secret question.
I did send email as you show to request for recovery help.
I will wait for a reply.

Thank You for giving me details on your case and good outcome.

As said by @hugeblack just need to be patient and provide more data ownership of your account, if it has been done then you just need to wait.

Now it seems easier to contact admins and moderators, I used to need to send an email to Cryptios which is Bitcointalk recovery team and once the data has been sent it will see it and automatically the account will be reopened.

It only took me -+24 hours to reopen my account.

ACCOUNT LOCKED FIX PROBLEM
I sent a message to the email that was printed when the account was locked and the bitcointalk recovery team responded well.

In the past, restoring an account was slow and could take weeks or even months, but over the past three years it has become much faster. I hope that you will be able to restore the account in less than a week.  All you need to do is be patient and provide more data proving your ownership of this account.

Like he said did you again try restoring your account @dominipater, it is still the same way as it was back in the day. By that, I mean to say the process but it is fast and it doesn't require you to wait. Since you said it happened due to an issue of the forum why not send a DM to the mods or the admin? They will check it and if they can find the cause they will be able to restore the account. If you have already done what I suggested then it is better to wait for their response unless you have lied to the community and these guys (mods and admin) are already aware of it.

Don't know how much faster the process of getting back accounts nowadays. But it took me more than year back in 2018 after started the process of recovering my account. So just keep patience and provide them with what they asked for. And you can remind them after some months if progress haven't been made. So I hope you get your account back soon.

I don't know if that account is so important to you, it's a member account. You can move your current account to member with update discussions if you wish.
I suggest that the reason why your account wasn't recovered for you is that I looks like a scam account. Take a look at your signature and see what's in it.

If I don't return your test transfer, it must be having issues still.

uchegod-21 I've followed the process to request recovery of my original account.

Being able to write from my original account is important to me because bitcointalk is where all began and it has my contributions to this forum since 2013, small as they may have been, they are important to me.

I take exception to how quick you accuse my account of being a "scam account".  In early bitcoin days, members often posted our bitcoin addresses in the signature looking for tips & donations with clever/playful messages.  I don't recall anyone from those days complaining about my signature or the content I posted with allegations of staging a scam.  It's sarcasm/joke and I'm openly warning coins sent won't be returned, not quite how scammers operate. Should a moderator request it, I'd happily reword it. When I regain access, I may also include my lightning address.

I appreciate the replies.

I don't know how I can "move" my initial post to the Meta discussion section.  Do you mean start a brand new post with the same inquiry in the Meta section, or is that note intended for moderators?
No need bother, if you were not the one that moved it, it means a moderator has moved it for you.

You can still edit OP and this profile link to it, it is not late

I'm hopeful I can get an admin to help me unlock my original bitcointalk account.
My account was locked after a hacking event in bitcointalk several years ago.  I missed the window to reset the password for my account, and by the time I returned to bitcointalk I learned I was locked out.

If your account was locked, then you have every chances of recovering it back, it may be locked due to several attempts on the account trying to log in to claim access, it may be due to suspicious activities, as long as you're not banned, you can always refer back to Theymos for reopening of your account, once you're able to show with clear evidence that you're the bearer of that account.

The process for "forgot password" is not successful.  The account seems to be locked.

As suggested by Haznik above, I have sent a request for account help to the email and process described here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/recovering-hackedlost-accounts-5089777

It says if the account was hacked or other issues, to send to that email node.  My account was not hacked.  Instead, my understanding is there was some sitewide issue, and bitcointalk required all affected users to proactively do something to recover their account, and there was a time-limit to completing this.  At the time I was not active on this site and missed the window.
I knew the password reset wasn’t going to work eventually, as this wasn’t a typical hacked and reset password issue but, an attempt to recover account from the admins. Since, the account was locked by an admin for the safety of owner and users on here.
It’s nice to have you back and not just back but seeking means to regain your account. I think one of your best means of proving ownership of your account is providing a signed message from the Bitcoin address you’ve linked or used with that account.

You can look up this link by Theymos on Recovering hacked/lost account if you can salvage the informations there to your advantage and archive your purpose.

I wrote using the email used in my dominicus account and included a signed message linked to the bitcoin account listed on my last (unedited) post.

I'm hopeful this time I will be able come back and post with my legacy bitcointalk account.

My email has not changed since then.

Thank You all for the replies!  I'm really hopeful to post again here using my legacy account.

The account does not have a password or email change log. If you still have access to the email account, you should be able to request recovery of your account via email.
If you still have access to the Bitcoin address that you posted previously, you can sign it as strong proof that you are the owner of the account.
The Bitcoin address you posted looks like it last made a transaction in 2016. That's quite a long time ago, but hopefully, you still have access to it.

Look at the bottom left of this page, right below this my comment (if it is still the most recent one when you see this). You should see 'move topic' and 'lock topic'. Click to move and then search for Meta.

Thank You, I found the link on bottom left.  Meta is in the "Other" section. I tried the link to move, yet 'Meta' is not listed in the pull-down menu of options to move to.  Only its child sub-sections "New forum software" and "Bitcoin Wiki".

The most important thing is your original email address linked to the account. A signed message is a secondary requirement, but it will make the recovery process much faster if you include it there. They will base on both those requirements, past activity and IP logs to determine if indeed your account was stolen

I am positive you will be helped. Just follow the instructions provided.

Why don't you create a thread or much better move this to meta and should use this thread for recovering your account. The old address linked with your account should be enough to prove that you are the original owner of the account. In order to prove that you are the owner is to open the wallet and sign a message using the wallet address that is linked with your account and wait for admin to help you. After all, admins are busy so you should wait for it.

OK, I will try this again.

I took time off from bitcoin (and bitcointalk.org) 2015-2016, and later got distracted chatting bitcoin on Reddit. When I tried to log back into my bitcointalk account ~2017, my credentials did not work and I was not able to request a password reset.

My email has not changed since then.

I hope you still have access to this your old Bitcoin address:1FkQS1RuEmSppCPdGPVGHtc4aj2nBiHAYFWhich is attached to your thread Offline Bitcoin Armoury on LiveUSB You might be required to sign in with it to prove you truly own that account.

@OP,

Why not share the account profile link if you want it to be unlocked. What you said about your present account is good and I don't think what you are trying to achieve can be considered wrong. The problem here is that you never disclosed the account name or the link to the profile. Without those details we would be helpless as we don't know what we are dealing with.

I wouldn't see much reason you won't get back your account If truly you are the real owner of this particular account in talk, and if you have all necessary details for proof of ownership, I believe you will be able to recover your account. But I'm curious to know what migh have kept you from not following back on this your account recovery issue even when you haven't gotten responses from Cyrus and Theymos as claimed, all this while.

I'm hopeful an admin can direct me on how I can regain access to my original account I created 2013.
If you are the real owner of the accounts which you're referring to then you may contact the admins and provide in depth details so you may get your account back.

If you own the addresses that you have shared in your posts then those addresses could be helpful for you to recover the account.

Just like acroman08 said, it would be nice if you can share your account that you're referring to as that would be even more helpful.

out of curiosity, would you mind sharing the name of the account that got locked? also, when you say "bitcointalk hack event", are you referring to the 2015 hack where forum data was leaked and a lot of accounts got compromised?

anyway, Hazink shared the link on how to recover the account, maybe try redoing the account recovery process again.

the thread should be moved in meta by the way.

First, I will advise you to move this thread to meta, then make it more detailed so that you can be attended to properly. The name of the account you are trying to recover, or UID, should be added for easy identification.

It will also be easier if you have anything attached to the account that could be used to verify if you are truly the owner of the account or not—something like an old, used address on the forum that you can sign in a message with, and others will verify the message.

You can also check account recovery process here

My account was locked after a hacking event in bitcointalk several years ago.  I missed the window to reset the password for my account, and by the time I returned to bitcointalk I learned I was locked out.
I created this new account in 2017 to be able to communicate with bitcointalk admins.
Late 2017 I emailed Theymos, and later also followed an authentication process sending private bitcointalk message from this account to Cyrus where I included an bitcoin-encrypted message that included the bitcoin address included in my postings, yet I never received a reply from Cyrus.

I'm hopeful an admin can direct me on how I can regain access to my original account I created 2013.
