Thank you, all that have replied.
I have successfully updated my bitcoin wallet, by installing the bitcoin core and then moving the chainstate and blocks folders and then the wallet.dat file after using the installation wizard.

This thread will promptly be locked!
If you have anything else to add or want me to unblock it, PM me.

Thanks again!

first backup your wallet.dat file on safe place , now install latest bitcoin wallet version(make sure you download from official website) after installing copy the wallet.dat file that you backuped and paste it to bitcoin block data directory, and you have done this Smiley

You shouldn't be worried about losing anything if your wallet is properly backed up.
When updating to a new Bitcoin Core version, your wallets will be unaffected.

Install/updating procedure depends on where/what you downloaded and your OS version.

I think you will need to copy over everything. Not all of the libraries are packaged into the binary files.

FIRSTLY, please PM if this thread/topic is in the wrong place on the forum.

I have previously installed and am running Bitcoin Core (32-bit) as 64-bit would not load!
I have run this and it has worked fine for me so far, though i have not been doing any transactions as I am still on the initial download.

Please can you confirm that:
1. I extracted the 0.11.2 (latest version of bitcoin core) using utorrent.
2. I then just need to copy and paste the bin/bitcoin-qt.exe file (don't I?)

After this, it should work OK. Can someone confirm this before I try it aned lose my addresses (even through they don't have anything on them anyway!)

I just want to check if this will work or if I have to copy over, the rest of the information housed in the main folder with bin, lib and include directorys.

Please reply quickly.
Thank you
Jack G
