The problem with this image would be the voltage and frequency values since the 1.5 T architecture is quite different - 6 blades / 10 chips per blade.
But nevertheless it worth trying to see if the RPi boots up. Actually he can use the standard 1T image (4 blades / 8 chips per blade) to check if it works - it may not recognize the extra hardware that the rig has but still may work @1TH or maybe even @2TH - will have to try that as well.

Of course, try other images, I think notlist3d suggested some other image. You should know that standard SD card for these rigs as they come from China is Sandisc Extreme 8GB Class 10. I've tried the image in question with the regular one (Class 6 8GB) and it worked as well.
I don't know what is wrong in your case but definatelly tested this image and it works.
Keep us posted if you find the issue.

My image was a different one.  Not a ton of unit's use it compared to the 1T images.   But it's worth a shot of trying since nothing else worked.  It's from a 1.5 T unit.

It also came off a 8 gb sd card, and will fit on a 8 gb sd card.

What's that supose to mean ?
On 32G SD card the image is booting up and it's fine ?
or
You can copy the image only on 32 GB card ?

both
boots on the 32g micro sd
dosen't work with the 8g micro sd hc - tried several cards
burned using rufus

still cant access via  network -
192.168.1.113
nothing -
using putty
can access same pi with other raspbians on so not the pi

going to try with other image
and
will keep tweaking -
i've got a new router coming will see if that helps

Either way - you're doing something wrong or inappropriate SD cards are used.
Most (not 100% sure but I think all) images for these type of rigs are intended for 8 GB SD cards preferably class 10.
Try writing the image to SD card and do the testing on another Dragon if you have one or your friend's one.
Or even easier, try the newly made SD card on someone else's RPi to check if it's booting.

P.S. By the way what is the network addressing you're using ? Is your network 192.168.1.X ?

cant connect with ssh- well i tried putty and its a no go ,    http @ ip , no joy either
image works on a sd that is a 32g
but dosen't work on an 8g card
will try some more later

thing is - the pi network lights are not lit though it works with other sd images - will have to try a different pi model

Just for the heck of it try this one - https://www.dropbox.com/s/so2wrtqbqd6jzzs/Dragon1.5boot.rar?dl=0

It's been a long while since I have used it so not sure of it.   If all the standard ones are not working it's worth trying.

I don't get that hdmi part. There shouldn't be anything from pi-hdmi out.You simply connect via HTTP or SSH.So can you connect to pi either way?

I have had a few dragon's in my day.  Helped a lot with them.  I personally never used hdmi as a tool.

I would agree ssh is better way to go.  Assuming you can get access from ssh, you can tell a lot from it.

I can't say for sure that it's the reason. I've never had HDMI connected during the boot of any of these images. Did you try to access the rig via [email protected], ping ?
How are you making the image copy ? I am using rufus.
Does your SD card have 8GB capacity ? What speed Class is the SD card ?
Can you use a RPi model B instead if you think that this could be the culprit ?
There's a lot of things that may go wrong.
You have to keep trying with the trobleshooting since this image works for sure.

Look at this article here.
It's in Russian but you can view the translation in Chrome and see the detailed screenshots and settings of the image I posted - it's the same as in this article. Moreover I think the hardware is pretty much the same as yours.
And I'm pretty sure that this image works - tested on more than 10 of Dragons. No sure where you see these messages but its IP address is 192.168.1.113 (HTTP access).
You said that this rig was for spare parts - it might have a some kind of hardware problem (control board, RPi or something else broken).

yes i am sure its the same model - probably some partial hardware issue

the rpi it came with was broken - i replaced it for a rpi b+ - slightly different rpi model but maybe that's what the problem is  Huh- driver support for networking ? on the image - would it be an issue - i wouldn't have thought so .

the new rpi networks fine with other raspbian sd installed no problem remote accessing with ip address- but no network lights on the miner image install.

tried without control board attached in hope it would simply network but still not

getting the messages from the rpi - hdmi out to monitor

so its got to be the software images network driver ? right ?

What type of dragon's where they tested on? I believe there is two main variant's based on how many chips on each blade.   It is not one size fit all like it once was.

well nearly right-
can't access through network yet--
can you help here? Huh
image boots fine all looking well until...
remote desktop protocol server :xrdp sesman
then it just repeats
ip 5
ip 5
2 ip 5
over and over again
any ideas?

I would ask pinhead666 for his image knowing the IP make sure to use a different sd card so you don't lose that.

But if he has a working image on his it should be pretty easy to clone it.

I had "free" electricity so I didn't bother underclocking it.It can be overclocked to 2,3TH but psus are rated only 1150W so I didn't.That config in picture takes 1000W per psu and gives 2,1TH.Now I have no free electric anymore so I have that thing hosted elsewhere.I once played with it and powered 3 blades (or six modules) with one psu underclocked and -volted heavily.I got 1,4 or 1,6 TH out with 1000W but error rate was huge.On the pool side maybe 1.2TH.

I have one of these A1 terminator 2TH miners. It has only 4 pcb-boards but 8 connection cables. So 8-board fw should be fine. Here is screenshot of the original fw.

Thanks for posting.  Very interesting as far as an A1 firmware.  Seems they gave you a lot of control.   Which is very nice.  Might even be able to find a decent under clock.

So that means they just used a biger blades and put on them 16 chips instead 8 as in the first versions.
Then that means the image I posted is exactly the one you're looking for - go ahead and use it.
Just be careful when tweaking the voltage - I beleive I have posted a reasonable settings in the thread.

The 1.5T image should not be compatible with these since they have 6 blades / 10 chips.
If you don't find any suitable image go ahead and try the one from my post.
How many control boards are in there and how many cables are plugged to the control board (except these from PSUs) 4 or 8 ?
there are 8 control cables running from the control board.
2 cables on each blade -  1 at each end

yes there are two psu
the black one is 1150 watt max  and the silver is a hp one at 910 watt max ? Huh

Where did you get this miner from? have you ever had it working?

Assuming it's 8 blade A1 and not underclocked, a 910 watt will not cut it.  I did not notice that was a PSU the one's ive seen have two matching ATX power supplies when they were new.

my mistake its rated 1300w at 200v-240v  (910w at 100-120v) not matching no - i assume its been bodged/customised.
its bought second or third hand as spares repairs -
the blades all light up and the fans work -
the pi was shot so i replaced it -
need the right software as what was on the sd was corrupted.
and should hopefully get  it to work

So, based on your findings it might be a different kind of Dragon 2T, I've seen such modifications in China.
4 blades with 16 chips is the same as 8 blades with 8 chips. Original Dragon 1T was 5 blades / 8 chips and later versions (overclocked) were 4 blades / 8 chips.
The problem with the software I've posted is that it's for 8 blades / 8 chips or 4 blades / 8 chips (always 8 chips per blade).
In your case of 4 blades / 16 chips - I am not sure it would be appropriate to use it.

If I were you and I don't have any other option I'd try it after all.

I have a copy of the 1.5T dragon if needed I believe.   I still am a little confused with machine I don't think 900 watts will be enough on one side.

I beleive that the image I've uploaded is not suitable for your miner. It has to have 8 blades to be compatible. Can you post some pics of inside the miner ?

If it's a 2TH dragon it is 8 blade.   As far as I know they did not make a 4 blade model that achieved 2T.
well maybe its not a dragon ? check pics - see if you can tell what it is
there are 4 blades with 16 chips each 28nm

I have a feeling it might be a 1T looking at it.  Are you able to read PSU and see what it say's in watts?   1100 or so would be a 1T.  If you had a A1 2T it would take 2 PSU's most likely.

Not sure the one I've uploaded is the same as on the pic, you have to test that by yourself. If it's not I'll have to extract the image from the miner's SD card - that would be the only way. The one I've uploaded was the last official image on their website and I thought it might be the same - never tested. I wonder why would you try to "have some "extra" juice" these days at current BTC prices. I would rather go other way round - underclock (of course it depends on your electricity cost).

if it's from the website then it;s not the one you have. greatly appreciate if you could extract it out.

many thx again.

most likely underclocking it to reduce the huge amount of hw errors. like i said earlier will have to test it out and see which direction it favors.

Well, I have one of my 1.5T Dragons with a little bit different image (I thought it's the one I've uploaded), which allows tweaking the hashrate between:
Freq    ->hashrate
750     ->1.44T
780     ->1.50T
800     ->1.53T
820     ->1.57T
850     ->1.63T

Also the web interface can be locked with a password (only for pools changing) - all other settings can be changed without this password.
Check this out:

As for the 1T/2T image refer to: http://bitmine.ch/coincraft-28nm-asic/
As you can see in nominal voltage mode "...0.765 V in nominal" you should set Freq to 800 (25GH/s per chip, 32 chips) and voltage to 0.765V to achieve best results (like 0.78 W/GH) but only with proper PSU like Corsair RM1000 (it can't be achievd with the stock one) - measured with powermeter: 640W@wall and hashing @820GH/s.
That should put the miner in normal instead overclocked mode (like they come from LKETC) - I am reffering the 4 blades machines (for 8 blades 2TH Dragons should be similar). 1TH Dragons (5 blades) were in normal mode comming from the factory.

the one you uploaded is with the tweaks as the pic here ? i'll download it anyways & try later today. will report back. it looked like the same stock fw (by the file name).

the 1.5th dragons i have came with the stock standard 1000w dragon psu's, but i have hybrid the miners by using the stock psu to power 5 blades & the 6th blade is powered by another psu so i should have some "extra" juice to test but i will test it out 1st before doing anything else.

many thx again. if the one you uploaded is not this tweakable fw, please do upload it. would like to try it out.

thx again.

The image that I've uploaded is explicitly for 8xA1 chips on blade (1 or 2 TH Dragons) - you can use that for over/under clock the miner - be careful overclocking the 4/8 blades versions ! (the image has got English language version link on top right of the screen).
For 1.5TH Dragons (10xA1 chips on blade) try this image - it is the last official factory version I have.
(the link will be active next 120 hours)

i tested this image on 1.5th version. shows 5 blades and can change the clock settings. just a short try though. the hashrate does goes up & down after changing the freq's. not too sure what to change them too but i opted to change it to the 9xx range.. it's all in chinese if i'm not mistaken. sadly i forgot to take a screen shot of it. might try again in the next few days. yes the default ip address is 192.168.113. not 100% sure if it works 100% but for sure it works but only on 5 blades. when i click on the real time monitor tab it shows 6 blades but of course only 5 blades are tweak-able also the amount of chips that are tweak able  8 chips instead of 10 chips if i'm not mistaken hence it does show the blades are at different speeds. more testing to find out more & of course will appreciate if a version for the 1.5th is available. more likely using it to downclock instead of over clocking.

hope someone would find this useful & share more info. thx to sueche for uploading & sharing the image.

Yes, I have tested this FW on 1TH Dragon - 4 blades but not on the 5 blades version (I don't have with 5 blades, but I am pretty sure it would work). Actually this FW is used by the factory for testing and tweaking purposes.
On 2TH Dragon should be the same as for the 4 blades Dragon 1TH - simply there are 8 boards with 8x A1 chips assemblings, insted of 4 boards with 8x A1 chips.
But of course one have to test it to be 100% sure - somewehe I've seen this firmware on 2TH Dragon but can't recall exactly where.

For 2TH Dragon you can use this image http://pan.baidu.com/s/1mguolfy pass:2vjs (ip address:192.168.1.113)

The image for 1.5T Dragon shouldn't be compatible with 1T or 2T Dragons since the number of chips per blade is different (10 for 1.5T to 8/16 for 1T/2T).
With this image you should be able to downclock (tweak the voltage and frequency via device's web interface) the device at some point in time when the electricity costs equals mining profit and extent miner usage further more.

Cheers.

Have you tested this?  I don't know on 1.5 but i am pretty sure the firmware detected how many blades.   There are a 5 and 4  blade 1T, to my knowledge i believe the same image worked on both.

I could be wrong as I have not used a 2 T just the 1.5 and 1.

You cannot use the coincraft image to power these. Look here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.8663022

I am pretty sure he posted a link to the image.

There is no image posted in that thread.  Here https://bitcointa.lk/threads/the-install-instruction-and-trouble-shoot-of-1t-dragon-miner.290633/page-2
you got a firmware image off another member.  Any chance you could hook me up?

Yeah. Thanks for reminding me, let me see if the link still works.

Have you been able to sign into the RasPi while connected to a monitor? That should allow you to find the IP manually.

Just received a 2TH/s Dragon miner.  Miner was shipped without SD Card, no help from seller or manufacturer.

I have dowloaded a few firmware images I found online, including the latest Coincraft Desk model and an AMT A1-based miner, and am currently working on downloading a full backup image from a 1TH dragon miner by torrent, but at current rate will take 3 weeks to complete.

Can anyone help me?  W/ the coincraft image flashed to an SD Card, the RasPi lights up and computer shows network activity, but IP scanner doesn't get me any hosts.  Tried hooking it up to the network, no IP address to be found.  Not sure what to do now.  Will give BTC tip for help with this.
