Hello

One one my acquaintance has recently passed away and being the (relatively) tech savvy in his entourage I have taken upon helping in collecting his digital assets (we are fortunate enough that he took all appropriate measure to document his virtual wealth).

I have managed to consolidate his various wallets and am in progress of transferring them into "fiat" currency (this opens by itself some interesting issues with the estate, especially with the recent volatility in BTC... but that's a different topic).

My question is about colored coins he had purchased and stored in a coinprism wallet. I have gone through some documentation (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Colored_Coins) about the subject and my understanding is that these coins are "simply" BTC with some extra information attached to them. Hence my obvious question is: is there any way to "uncolor" them ? Or are they now part of a different blockchain ?

I have tried to reach out to the https://www.coinprism.com/ support but it would seem that the whole operation is more or less derelict.

Any info / pointer would be much appreciated !

i guess it's not possible to uncolor existing coin, because of colored parameter is in bitcoin blockchain, imo uncolor coin will decrease colored coin supply . I also wanna working on colored coin, i hope we can discuss it by PM

Thanks for that. Sorry to ask but what is a "D@T topic" ?

Anyone know if coinprism is still in business ?

Seems like a D@T topic

To answer your question to my knowledge it really depends if there are any assets that were related to the color coins or messages i'm not knowledgeable enough to answer that question directly but would move your topic there to get assistance.
To answer the second part they are still part of the Bitcoin blockchain and will work like any normal Bitcoin transaction.
