Okay guys, I solved the problem! I had missed answer to a textmessage, That´s why the bitcoins wasn.t released, and my wallet was just waiting.
Which means no coin was even sent before, but glad that the issue has been resolved and your coin is now appearing on your electrum balance. Just still remember that next time bitcoin addresses do not expire, newbies can be confused about this on Electrum but addresses do not expire, the same address can still also be used many years after so far you have the seed phrase that can generate the address private key, but addresses are not advisable to be reused because of privacy reasons.

Yesterday (2/9-21) i bought bitcoins and chose to transfer them to my Electrum wallet.
I can see that the transfer is registered on Electrum and the company I bought bitcoins from has sent the bitcoins, but I still haven´t recieved the amount of bitcoins.
It says in my Electrum wallet that the transfer expires in 4 hours. What happens if my bitcoins doesn´t come within these 4 hours? Are they lost?
I have checked the recieving-adress and it is correct.

What can I do??

Let's start by asking the most important questions:

  • where did you download electrum from?
  • did you check the signature?
  • how exactly did you generate an address, who did you send it to (can you give us a walktrough of what you did)
  • can we know this address? Sharing this info will not decrease your security, but it will decrease your privacy
  • is electrum connected (green dot at the bottom right of electrum's window)

I took screenshots but I don´t seem to be able to upload them here....

You can't. You must upload them to an image hosting provider like imgur.com and then post the link here.

In the History-tab there is no new transactions...
Is your wallet synced? Is the circle at bottom left corner of the window green? If the circle is not green, that means that there's a problem with electrum connection to internet.

You can also check if they have sent bitcoin using block explorers.
Go to blockchair.com and enter the address you gave them. Do you see any transaction there?

Can you see an incoming transaction in the "History" tab?

Don't worry about it. Your transfer won't expire. The expiry time does not have any impact on coins. It is available to make it easier to track payments.

You're a bit confused about some concepts here... Electrum does have a functionality that's called "receive", but this is merely an internal electrum function. If you gave somebody an address generated by this receive function, it'll be valid forever, so even if the request expires, it doesn't really matter (since those requests are merely for you internal accounting purposes, but the address generated by this function actually belongs to your wallet, so it never expires).

What worries me more is that you say the company funded this address, but you haven't received anything.
Could you look at the "history" tab instead? Maybe they didn't send the exact amount you expected?
If you look at the "history" tab, and you see an incoming amount that's roughly what you expected, and roughly around the time you expected it, it's probably because you converted to FIAT or the sender had some extra fees he/she subtracted from the amount.

EDIT: it seems Rath_ beat me to it, his advice is correct and more or less the same as mine... I still decided to leave my post online because it did offer some extra background information Smiley

You don't have to "register" a transfer. The payment request is simply for you to keep track of your transactions and assigning specific addresses for them. As long as the receiving address is still in your wallet (ie. you didn't delete the entire wallet file or the seeds), then it would be totally fine. Bitcoin addresses will never expire.
