Thank you so much all you guys. Lot of great suggestions!

I wanted to reinstate that account because it had a lot of history and it was a full member account with 159 posts. Unable to get the email account back and not remembering the password has pretty much made it certain that I will not get that account back unless mods help me out.

If you forgot the email id, then basically its pretty difficult to recover your passwords.Even mods wont entertain  things like recovering passwords . I can give you one suggestion, if you are using a gmail , try contacting google to recover your email id . In some cases they do offer that type of service. I am not sure about it but I have read it somewhere in the net. Just google it and see if your account is gmail.

The only way to recover your account in your case is in my opinion to get access to your email account. Then you can reset your password.
I think also so, as far as I am if you use any website definitely offer to save passwords, why he didn't do it  Huh, I think it is very difficult if you've forgotten your email, maybe if only forgotten passwords can still access via email.

But instead if the first list in this Bitcointalk forum, usually we will be asked to register an email account that you still use / or still active, so if for example there is something we do not want like forgot password can be verified quickly.

Also, how hard is it to get control of the email again. If it's at long enough you can probably just re-register the email address or there may be some way that you can get the password for that. Sometimes what you're looking at two websites and trying to recover password, it's easier to recover it off the secondary site that the primary site.

Hello,

I forgot my password and did not have access to my email ID that I used to register as well.

I did not see any support/help page which will help me with this, so posting it as a new thread. Please feel free to move it to appropriate section.

I had to create a new ID since I could not log in my original ID. Is there a way to reinstate that account?

The user ID on my main account is crafty.

Thanks for any help.

Try telling the website that you forgot your password, and use your username, and take a box under it that says to answer a security question. There's my friends account that we are in the process recovery that got hacked from a couple weeks back and trust me he spent probably a good 20 minutes on that particular page of this website and he don't know if it's something that we had Nable that you do not but there was an option to answer security question and that would reset the password without dealing with any emails.

To PREVENT this from ever happening again, get a program called ROBOFORM!!! https://www.roboform.com/
It's FREE for the FIRST TEN UserNames and PassWords (I think!)
Or just use Keepass, which is free for as many passwords as you would like to put into it.

Or Lastpass, the best password manager out there.

*** SINCE you are trying to get into THIS WEBSITE, this website uses an EMAIL ADDRESS as the USERNAME and then a chosen NAME to be displayed on the header of your pages and beside of your posts.  Think carefully.

I don't have any real, cool tips guaranteed to get you logged in. BUT, BEFORE YOU CLEAR YOUR BROWSER CACHE, HISTORY AND BOOMARKS, look at those and see if you can find any information to jog your memory within that.

Just make sure you follow best practices for using browsers such as clearing your browser cache and history as your next steps.

Also try to use the same browser you used when you originally signed up. Then, Also, try DIFFERENT browsers too!  Grin Grin

I'll just throw some tips out there, maybe something will stick!  Cool

Of course, restart your computer AFTER AFTER you have tried the cache, history and bookmarks and see if there is anything there that jogs your memory.

Only run the single application (browser) to get you logged into the website.
Make sure you know what your caps-lock keys are doing.

clear browser cache and any other settings that will get you back to default settings.
Reset your applications back to default to see if some new settings you don't remember setting will get you back.

(Is there any reason creating a new account will have any problems associated with it? I mean do you have some coins in there already or something you will lose access to if you must recreate?

If you were listening to some music, try to put the same tunes back on and see if any ideas come to you.

(What I have tried sometimes in the past is to write down on a piece of paper your username and passwords....
If you are 100% SURE of the ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE USERNAME, Write that down on the paper and only try different passwords with DIFFERENT combinations of the passwords with capitals and lower case. As you try each combination, cross through that password and move on to the next one. Be VERY, VERY thorough.

Do you have an email confirmation for when you first signed up that lists your username and password. Is there a password reset link in the confirmation email (if you got one or have access to it) Did it ask you for a security question or prompt you for hints to help you remember it when you signed up?

Why is it CRUCIAL that you are able to get back into this  account instead of creating a new account?

I have a username and password I'm trying to remember myself! <> LOL Oh well!  Cheesy Cheesy
