I created a electrum wallet at the start of the year. I then restored it from my seed sent BTC yesterday to another wallet and it still hasn't reflected in that wallet. I then logged onto my main pc but it doesn't show any transactions in my history how can I recover this? to see the transaction. my btc doesn't show in my electrum wallet so that means it hasn't been sent back for not being confirmed.
Where did you restore the seed to if it wasn't your "main pc"? Huh

It seems like you original restored from seed on a different computer or device and sent BTC... and that didn't work... and then you tried opening the wallet on your main PC and it doesn't show anything? Huh Is that correct?

It's been two days and the btc hasn't reflected in the receiving address and still nothing is showing on my electrum wallet. I used the original seed to restore the wallet, as that of the wallet I sent the btc from. I've read that I should try change servers on electrum but I'm not too sure how to do this? I will also try check the different wallets like suggested. On this pc it is the first time electrum has been logged onto it.
It sounds like the "original seed" you used to restore your wallet, was not the correct seed... if it was, it should show the wallet history and balance etc.

Where is the wallet that you sent the btc from (ie. what device is it on)? Huh Do you still have access to that wallet? Huh

~snip~

nc50lc already guides you on how to change the server but I would like to add this if you can't still receive anything from your Electrum.

What I think is even the Electrum is connected and show a green circle sometimes it won't sync this is based on my past experience.
Changing my PC DNS solves my problem so maybe your Electrum is blocked by your ISP.

Try to change your PC DNS and use any of these below

Code:
Google DNS:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Cloudflare DNS:
1.1.1.1
1.0.0.1

If still does not work I would recommend you to take a screenshot of your wallet addresses if you don't want to show it public you can send it to me through pm and let me check it for you if the address you posted above is included from your wallet.

okay but how do I get my transaction history to show so I can see the address it was sent to?

If the transaction was broadcasted to the blockchain we might be able to view any incoming BTC but there is no transaction broadcasted to the given address 3Nymsmo1cSSRUyxz2DBreMYZ3ns7tfe2WT .

Did you set up a fixed fee for the transaction by any chance or you've change any settings?

Hi all,

I used the original seed to restore the wallet, as that of the wallet I sent the btc from. I've read that I should try change servers on electrum but I'm not too sure how to do this?
To change server:
Click the green circle icon at the lower-righthand side of Electrum,
Untick "Select server automatically", then right-click on a server of your choice and select "Use as server".

But if it's already green, changing the server wont be needed.

It's been two days but have you let Electrum open for a while and did not closed it right after checking the balance?
Because it needs time to download the blockchain headers.

If nothing checks-out: I highly suspect that you're looking at a different wallet file, if no, restored a different seed.

To change the server to which your wallet is connected and choose one manually:  click Tools -> Network, untick Select server automatically then choose whatever server you want your wallet to connect to.

Note: This is not necessary unless you have a connectivity issue (syncing problems) or the server won't let you broadcast your transactions.
In your case, if the circle in the bottom right is in green then there is no need for this.

You might have just saved your transaction instead of broadcasting it. If you don't feel comfortable sharing your BTC addresses with us, then check them yourself on a block explorer such as https://blockchair.com/.

What is the address you sent the coins from? Enter it on a block explorer and check its history.
What is the address you sent the coins to? Enter that as well on a block explorer and see what it says.

The address you shared that begins with 3Nymsmo has not sent or received anything, as stated previously.

You mean that the transaction is also not displayed in the sending wallet? Are you sure you've actually broadcasted it? Do you remember if you got a message "payment sent"?
Or maybe you could post the sending address too so we can check?

my btc doesn't show in my electrum wallet so that means it hasn't been sent back for not being confirmed.
Bitcoin transaction don't work that way.
If it wasn't sent at all, the coins wont be moved and the previous inbound transaction should still be displayed in the wallet's history.
In an event of dropped transaction, Electrum will just show it as "local transaction" (blue computer icon) that can be easily removed from the history using right-click menu.
But being dropped from mempools is a rare occasion.

If there's nothing in the history, I think you're looking at a different wallet file, Electrum can have more than one wallet.
Try to check your other wallet files in menu "File->Open" or "File->Recently open".

If you meant by "restore the seed" by saying "logged onto", and it's the first time Electrum was launched in that PC.
It may need a few minutes (55mb file) to sync depending on your internet speed.

It doesn't show only the recent transaction or all transactions are missing? If it's the latter then it's either a syncing problem or you imported the wrong seed and you are looking at the wrong wallet.

What about the first wallet (the one with which you made the transaction)! Can you see the transaction ID on the history tab? If the amount you sent has been deducted from your balance then you should be able to see that transaction.

Did you type address while sending? Don't say yes please. If so, it's likely that you have messed with the address...........
That's very very unlikely.
In the case someone types the address manually and types some characters wrongly, it's almost impossible that the address is valid and the user should get an error saying "Invalid address or script." after clicking on "Pay" button.

how do I fix the sync issue? I downloaded it from electrum.org

this is the correct address sorry I typed it wrong here. 3Nymsmo1cSSRUyxz2DBreMYZ3ns7tfe2WT

How did you create your wallet? is it a multisig wallet or a 2FA enabled wallet?

If you see a balance from your wallet where your bitcoin is then can you copy the address there.

The address that starts with 3 might be an address where you sent BTC? So possible that the wallet that you created from the start has a syncing issue.

Or that address is from the wallet that you created from the start?
You should tell us more about your wallet screenshot of the history and addresses tab would be a good help but edit the image and erase half of your all addresses for privacy.

Sample screenshot.

As you can see on the image there are two arrows you can also use it as a reference for syncing issues the circle on the bottom right means it's not connected to any server or you might have a connection issue. The bottom left also tells you that it's not connected.

You can check the address you sent the coin to on the history tab, click on history, check if the transaction is marked as green (if marked as green, the the transaction is confirmed already), right click on the transaction and click on 'view transaction'. You will be able to see the address you sent the coin to.

If no problem with sharing your address from where you sent the BTC, I mean your wallet address, can you share that?

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/3Nymsmo1cSSRUyxz2DBreMYZ3ns7tfe2WT

As you can see on the link above, the address never sent nor received any funds so if you're sure about sending, you might have sent it to the wrong address.

I believe this is a sync issue as mentioned above. Otherwise, you must have seen the tx in your transaction history. On a side note, can you make sure that you have sent in the right address? It is possible that you have sent to a wrong address. Also, from where you downloaded the wallet? Is electrum.org or what?

Could you please post the TXID of the transaction? Or the receiving address at least.

Also, if you look at the bottom right corner, what's the color of the circle? Is it green? It could be a sync issue.
