How comes? what did i do wrong ?

You have to decrypt your private key first.

Download locally the bitaddress.org zip, unpack it, go to wallet details tab, enter the encrypted private key, check the "bip38 encrypt" checkbox, enter the password, click "decrypt bip38".
Then scroll down and use the "Private Key WIF Compressed / 52 characters base58, starts with a 'K' or 'L'" in Electrum.

Of course, when you do this with a wallet that is supposed to hold funds now or in the future, do it offline, maybe on a safe OS from USB stick.

first of all you should know that as you posted your private key on a forum you should consider it compromised and never use it again.

your problem is simply because in the "sweep" window of Electrum there is no option for BIP38 decrypt which is required for decrypting that private key you posted here (starting with 6). so you have to decrypt it some other way. use bitaddress.org as the other poster said, unfortunately Eleectrum does not support BIP38 at all.

Hey guys,

Please help me with sweeping an private key covered with a password.
I have created this using bitadress.org, chosen for a password and generate it.
To start i send a verry small amount of funds, and i was lucky with it
because my electrum 3.2.3. for mac does not import/sweep it.
I.e. the "sweep" tab stays grey so i can not click it.

Afterwards i tried to sweep with my phone and the blockchain.info wallet
ans after i entered the password funds were imported!

How comes? what did i do wrong ?

Later i tried again and ....... same problem
the private key looks like
6PnSLdtMaGBxJppQED7J5XoJ7qLYunUwdfYrUK3SSq5R9tQ5giE254YcUy

and the btc adress that belongs to it is
1Doe8c2cw5CDX1U5cLc8oUKpam54VdLnxw

Do not get excited, the adress is new and empty.
Please  help me, i want to store my btc dafe on a paperwallet. Grin
